I love strategy, it's why I love tw however the one thing I hate about the game is if your crap at strategy. You buy your way to the top. Too many players on this game do this. As such this game is no more than a pretend strategy game. But I don't want this to be a rant thread. I just wondered if anyone knew of any good online strategies in which you can't buy the ability to win. Post them here

Hack the game.
Kill the opposition. (really!)

Is this a digestion for tw line? I'm not pissed I can't get ahead here. This game is what it is and I enjoy it. But I want a game that challenges my strategic ability this one challenges my bank ballence

Wow no online stat games that You can't pay your way to the top? Isn't that weird no one would play an fps where you could pay to make it take 50 headshots to kill you... Yet in strategy games it's ok? Something wrong here I feel. Mabey the designers of strategy games are the real strategy gamers. Convincing players to download their "free" apps to make more money than other games that cost £5.

I said I do like the game... Do I have to be exclusive to tw? I just want a strategy game that's based on strategy not cashflow. Why are you taking offense at this. I'm meairly looking for suggestions of ACTUAL strat games

True as I'm a kid I can't buy points and I love strategy like risk but not as war based as that.war based but more strategic and tactical
-
Agreed - would like see a gps game with Age of Empires like factors to it - building, farming, fighting , even sailing across the seas - in real time - I would buy that. Have a population limit to stop uber- armies - agree money is a big factor on here which is a shame- but that's life

yes it is just a shame that there seem to be no good games that work just off strategy. I'd pay for it first off just want a game with no buy to win feature. It's not nicks fault. The increases are expensive enough that they should offer minor benefits. But some people are nuts, or rich, or both and the don point feature IMO is used too much now. It is as it is and I'm not complaining. Just don't feel my strategic impulses are satisfied by this game now.

Firstly. Really good thread Rhino. I agree. You can tell the 'payers' from the players when it comes down to a war. I'm still quite satisfied with the tactical side though. I'm still learning and have been in some V's with some quality players. Money may give you an advantage but it can't disguise the fact that your shit.

Play Urban Rivals. Good game pm me about it i think there's a ref Link O.O

theres parallel kingdom... but sometimes you run out of
food and then the need or
$$ comes. its gps based. -

agree reaper. I have put a bit of cash into this game. And you can tell who pays. Thing is rhino has a load of henchies and we all know how expensive they are. You can get far with investing wisely. But you're right. If you have no game it's useless really. There are players who have put little or no cash into this game and they do well. The lack of strategy is basically due to the game. It's essentially mob. I think that makes the game a bit linear. The game does need more strategy and in game balances to protect "players" from "payers".Firstly. Really good thread Rhino. I agree. Ok best way to survive in this game with three rules;
1. Get help from a high mobbed pro at start,
2. Try and befriend similar mobbed players around you and crush any who aren't.
3. Be kind to both higher and lower mobbed players, you will be respected and often better players will leave you alone. -

See j agree with this. But some players like to stroke heir virtual ego cos they lack in real life. That when the game becomes annoying and you feel frustrated that the big players gang up n say the same stuff.Corrupted1 wrote:

I do have alot of henchies. I am very guilty of spending money. But where as I have 300 some have over 2000! That's crazy! The 300 mob I had was a big advantage when people had mobs of 2k not so much now... I actually think turf limit is a bigger problem though. Vendettas can be used to take down big mobs. Turf limits over a few hundred make mobsters invincible once they have enough cash. That's not strategy that's buying victory. Again my turf limit is increased but to a tenth of what some people have done.
All financial problems re: nick aside. If the playing field was levelled I would most likely not come out on top. But I'd know when I'd earnt victory and be satisfied with loosing too.
Once again I'm not asking for this just making an observation. (though a cap on turf limit would be nice 😉)

MoMo doesn't play urban rivals, but she plays KaW -.- she's ranked like 800 in a clan named Chinese Triumph. I give it a month or so and she'll buy her way to the top 5

Pocket legends is the best game ive found on iPad yet. I like strategy too but I also like mmorpgs. Give it a look, might be what you want. You can buy your way to the top in every game. That's why the games keep going. If they were free then people wouldn't spend time creating them or hosting them.

Demon's Souls for the ps3. You'll get your ass handed to you, but you can't buy your way to the top and you can't get anywhere in the game unless your good at strategy games

I have a great one for you, but you probably won't like it since it has absolutely nothing to do with video games. If you want to try an excellent strategy game, look into a turn based board game called Warhammer 40k made by a company called Games Workshop. It used to be pretty big here in the US and I think it still has a nice following in England and Germany. I'm an old school gamer and I LOVE true strategy games....WH 40k is still my all-time favorite. 😺I said I do like the game... Do I have to be exclusive to tw? It's deffo sad when your working and earning just to blow it all on a game people need to realise there is more to life at the end of the day you could Plow thousand of pounds dollars or whatever currency in to this game but all you've gt to show for it is a virtual page it's not as if you get a trophie or even a certificate and its certinatly no investment unles you can sell your profile to sum mug willing to pay for it and when you finally get board or your thousands have run out and your still getting beat and end up quiting then great you had a bit of fun but your getting nothing that you couldn't of achieved by not wasting your money why not just not spend anything and take out players that are spending fortunes just to sicken them for being stupid lol
