Fictional families
Forums › General Discussion › Fictional families-
My nephew (and fellow turfer) and I were having a intellectual discussions of sorts (yeah yeah yeah, note I prefficed it with "of sorts") the other day. We were talking about some of the books, novels, stories, etc that we've been required to read over the years for our various paths of education.
It got me thinking about the good, the bad and the boring as hell characters and life styles depicted through the broad range of literature.
So with that brief introduction I pose this question to the TW community.
If you had the opportunity, what fictional family/group (nuclear or hodgepodge) from either literature interests you enough that you would consider walking a mile in their shoes with them. As an added layer, what character in particular would you be and why?
I haven't been able to whittle down my choices yet but have put some thought into it. For duair, if I remember correctly, he was pretty firmly decided about galevanting around for a while with the gang from Canterbury Tales. -
I'd be an Inner Party member.
I'd have sugar; not saccharine. Proper milk. Tea. And I could turn down the view screen. I sit quietly while you spew your two minutes of hate.
I could seduce outer party members, helping them join the "resistance", and then crush their minds and spirits with all the love of big brother.
I am O'Brian.

Swiss Family Robinson. But only for that sweet-ass treehouse.
-
The simpsons. No matter what they do they're always ok
-
The Chandrian from Name of the Wind. Any of them.
If we're going more educational, then the Ewell family from To Kill a Mockingbird.
-
Lolita

I used to imagine being Scout Finch.

When I was a kid I always wondered what it'd be like to be Roger Hunt who helped his older brother capture animals for their dad's zoo in the books by Willard Price. I also thought it would be interesting to travel alongside the gunslinger in the Stephen King series. Never was really interested in characters that were closer to 'real life' for some reason.

Hmmmm good question think my choice would be 'Jebu' from The Shike books he was a ninja monk from the water fowl temple in Japan. First read the books when was twelve an was totally hooked I've read the books so many times now lost count but each time read them they just sweep me back into the book like I've never read it. Or as a second choice Ragnar Blackmane of the space wolves.
