So, is this not a war game?

I mean, it does have the word "war" in the title.
Why is it then that the minute you try to do anything in this game, all the "big" players step in to stop you? It's almost like everyone expects we're playing farmville or something?
I dunno, seems silly. With the game mechanics, you can't take on players that are larger than you, but if you attack someone smaller than younyou're a bully. And, lo and behold you find someone who is larger than you landwise but a bit smaller mob wise, attack him, and you're still a bully.
So what are we supposed to do? Sit around, wait for someone to attack you and run to all the big players to get them to stop the meanie?

This game evolved into having a greater social aspect than being the best and kicking everyones ass. I'm not sure how or why it turned into this, but I like it

It depends on location and local "big" players in the area.

Looks to me like you are a player of sufficient enough size to stop speaking in wide-ranging generalizations. Play the game how you see fit. Just be prepared for the consequences. Larger players will defend their interests whether they may be friends or income or allies. Anyone getting capped or attacked can cry bully. Whether or not you really are one is usually pretty evident--and then you get to decide on your own if you mind that. Some do, some don't. I see no need to add to the whinging unless you have an actual complaint under there somewhere.

Sir, you are like a country with only a single nuke surrounded by countries with millions of nukes, you need to use diplomacy to become big enough that you can become a god of war, attempting to be a god of war right when you start out and you WILL get your ass handed to you on a silver platter
