R U A POKER PLAYA?
Forums › General Discussion › R U A POKER PLAYA?-
Lately I've been on Zynga- Texas Hold'em. In the past Ive played on XBOX live and have had a few friendly games in RL but, I haven't hit a casino yet. Sometimes i check out 'player type' and 'card scenario' videos on YouTube. From what ive seen and read, I'm expecting RL casino play (for money) to be very interesting.

Used to play. Not anymore.

Love playing. Played a lot online on poker stars before it shut down by the Feds. Will play whenever the US gov't opens it back up again for the U.S.

Used to have a friendly weekend game ($20 buy-in) that was a hoot. We mostly got wasted and told dirty jokes while making fun of each other. My wife ruined it by joining in and beating us all on the reg.
I have played at the casinos many times and you have to be careful what table you're at. Some of those folks are really good if that is their profession (taking tourist's money). Won a few hundred playing in Tunica though.

I've been getting down with Zynga but, I heard W.S.O.P. is pretty good too.

I moved a few times in the last couple years but, im back in N.Y. and I'd love to set-up a weekend or monthly game. Once I get settled into one of these shoe box apartments, I probably will.
As far as my first time at a TO casino I'll probably go to the Jersey shore or down in Brooklyn but, ill be playing at the lowest buy in tables that, I can find. I know some of them dudes are sharks (waiting on a donkey) ha

won a small tournament in vegas a couple weeks ago. lost half of the winnings playing no limit though.
but for those looking to play online, checkout betonline. credit card deposits work (havent tried cashing out though so idk how difficult that is). they also have free tournaments every hour or so. dont expect to win a lot of money from those, but its still money

Once I get over the kid like glee of actually being in a real casino and break the ice with a few simple games...Im sure I'm gonna want to join at least a small stakes tourney. (Shi* im getting hyped just talking about it) :)

Thats cool about your win. Its gonna be awesome when I can say the same. The gambling online part though, idk. I've heard a few bad stories, stuff like Turf Warrior mentioned about Poker Stars.

@Romana1064...At the moment, I do play Zynga- Texas Hold'em (online with the public) but, I play free. Even if you go broke, a few days later you can play a side game with a one arm bandit and just continue.

@yomama1064 ^^^spell check is buggin' and the way that I text, it's probably working overtime. Ha

I played all the time on the rigs. Either with a couple crews after work till wee hours of the morning or casinos. Love playing Texas Hold'em.

I play in a tourney that goes on every 4 months in the city. It's put on by a brain injury society charity, $100 buy in with top prize of 2k. Lots of fun, winners always donate their winnings back to the charity.

Actually I got my cash I had in the account mailed to me a few months later after the gov't shut it down. So I have no complaints. Some people claim it's rigged. I personally didn't think so.yomama1064 wrote:

I also had a bit of cash at PokerStars and Full Tilt. PS got folks their dough pretty quickly. FT was more of a pain in the ass, but it eventually came through. I now play a Bovada (was Bodog) but it's pretty lame with not knowing who you are playing. I'll look at betonline. Someone I follow on twitch plays there.

I play in a regular poker league with a bunch of buddies... It's awesome. I also have a casino in my city so I play there regularly. Played in 3 low stakes tourneys in Vegas a few years back and finished top 5 in 2 of them. Great game!

@Turf Warrior...I hear you. Good to know that they took care of those payouts. Online it's easy for rumors to spread and give sights a bad name.

Nice! I've got a friend out in Vegas that's been offering for me to visit and stay a while. It would be the bomb spot to break my cherry at the casinos but, its not in the cards right now. :( (pun intended) Not Sunday but, definitely some day I plan to take the trip. :)

Ahh, I forgot about Full Tilt, it's the first time that ive heard of Bodog/Bovada though. I'll have to check out some reviews and look into the 'online for cash' sites.
