Kim Davis Kentucky Clerk

a county clerk invoked "god's authority" for defying U.S Supreme Court on gay marriage . What's say you?
-
She either needs to do her job or leave. What's there to say about it? The job position says to give marriage licenses. If you don't want to do that then fucking quit.
-
She needs to leave. She works for the government not a church.
-
I have respect for her. She's standing up against opposition to what she firmly belives in. That being said, a job is a job. If she was not prepared to do what she's supposed to, she shouldn't be in that position. Then again, she didn't think that same-sex marriage would ever be legalized, much less in her time in office, so how could she be prepared?
I don't know. I'm conflicted.

It's her right to have religious freedom and not have to do something against said religion.
It's also her employers right to dismiss her for not doing the job duties she's required to do.

It's against my religion to work on days of the week. However, I still require a paycheck. It's ok, God said it was cool if I stay home.

"Religious freedom" sounds pretty broad to me lol. Was she not already giving atheists, muslims, etc. marriage licsences already? So they can just pick and choose what to envoke "religious freedom" upon? It's her right to have religious freedom and not have to do something against said religion.
It's also her employers right to dismiss her for not doing the job duties she's required to do.
...pretty sure that means I can smoke weed at work...lol -

She's an elected official, can't be fired. But she can be punished for breaking the law.

Her religious beliefs prevent her from signing a paper that allows gays to marry.
Guess it's cool with her gawd to get married 4 times herself and get knocked up by someone who wasn't her husband at the time.I don't give a crap either way if lunch pushers can get married and be miserable like the rest of us.
Just always amused to learn about the skeletons so often in the closets of those who try the hardest to impose their beliefs on others.

This isn't the first time she's done this, either...
-
Does she secretly hand out marriage licenses to 12-year-old couples on God's authority, too?
"Oh, you already have six wives? No problem. It says right here in Judges 8:30 that God's cool with that. Congratulations!" -
She's not even decent looking. Anyways besides the looks. We all have our separate beliefs. She may not approve of it. But that's how society is at the moment and she has to accept the fact that even though people are doing things past her religion guidelines, she still has to accept the people regardless. Hope what I said made sense.

Elected officials can be fired. If she was elected to do a job, but refuses to do that job despite court orders, she will not keep that job. They might not call it a firing, but that's what will happen. You can't be a court clerk from a prison cell. This woman is not even a judge. It is not in her authority to interpret a law, only to carry out the judge's interpretations. She's an elected official, can't be fired. But she can be punished for breaking the law.

Actually I read that she could be impeached but there's no action to do that at this time.
-
She's due for another hearing Thursday......Kentucky law keeps dragging its feet
-
Now she's in jail.
-
"haHa"
-
Gay people tried to offer her a compromise, but she decided to stay in jail instead.

She can't be fired except by the state senate, but they won't reconvene until January. Wait, what the fudge? It's September 3rd! And they're out for the rest of the year?Actually I read that she could be impeached but there's no action to do that at this time.

Unfortunately for her go find me won't allow an account to be setup in her name thanks to a recent policy change otherwise she would be getting rich over this stunt. Although I'm sure she will find a way to capitalize on this.
-
Heard she broke the law by marrying her cousin. Weird how laws go both ways.
