Random I know, but Tw is always good for helping out with random info... So...
We have a 1 yr old French Bulldog. Yesterday (16 hours ago roughly) he will sick a few times... Completely emptied his stomach onto our living room floor...
Since then though, he has lost mobility in his back legs to the point where he can't stand up or walk himself.
I took him the the emergency vets ~12hours ago... The bloke seemed like he didn't want to be there... Gave him a sickness injection and said its probably just his tummy being upset. I wasn't altogether happy with that, but of course, trusted his opinion.
Having now slept overnight, he still can't walk at all... I have no idea what could be wrong so need some advice! I guess things perhaps like slipped disk (from being sick?) in his back... But have no idea!

This diagnosis is worse than the Vet's. "Quarterson" is not even a thing. It could be any number of problems, and you have a couple choices. Wait, or increase the odds of survival by spending money on tests. I think the vet assumes you don't want to spend the money.euser wrote:

"Dr., my little boy can't walk and he pukes up his food all the time."
"Just an upset tummy. Give him some HGH and a shot of heroin. It is expensive, but his life is worth it."
Or:
"Let's do some blood work and put him in the scanner and take a look."

Thanks brown... If you noticed... I Took him in out of hours for emergency vet treatment... The vet would already be assuming my bill will be large and that I am prepared for it. I think Euser meant there are known spinal issues that the 'quarterson injections can help with' that Either way... Thanks to you both〓BODGΞЯ〓 wrote:

I had a dog with back problems. Woke up one day to find her dragging her back legs. I found a chiropractor who also treated animals. The dog made several visits, but was walking again after the first.

Yeah. Or you might try an acupuncturist or reflexologist that does dogs, too. Some people swear by voodoo or exorcism, but I find that a good over-the-phone reiki session cures most major medical conditions, and you get an immediate prediction of how much longer the dog will live, too. If you pay by the minute, though, try to avoid slow talkers.I had a dog with back problems. Woke up one day to find her dragging her back legs. I found a chiropractor who also treated animals. Do you mean can't walk or won't walk? My dog wouldn't walk, was vomiting and just looked unwell, turns out she had an auto immune condition and had to be put down.

Got a new lab puppy once. After a few days of having him he started to show signs of being sick. He started vomiting, wouldn't really walk around, or make much noise at all. Then my older lab started showing same symptoms. We took them to the vet but he said he didn't know what was wrong or how to fix it. The next morning we found our older lab, Duke, had passed away in his sleep cuddled up next to my stepdad. :( it was a sad sight. Don't think I've seen my stepdad ever cry so much. Anyway the new puppy just miraculously stopped being sick altogether and is now a 120 pound spoiled lap dog.

My dog suddenly wouldn't walk on one hind leg, the next day both went lame. Wasn't vomiting or anything, but she wouldn't eat either. Thought maybe she hurt her spine or something running through the woods.
Vet treated her for Lyme Disease (a common issues in this area of the country). Had pills she needed to take for about a month. Within 3 days she was back to running around. She has to go for a follow up test next month to make sure it's neutralized not going to reoccur. I guess you never "get rid of it 100%" once you have it.

You should have blood work drawn to see if there are any irregularities. It sounds like it could be lyme disease.

This happened to one of my dogs, she had a siezure wich hurt a disc in her back. The vet said it wiuld cost $3000.00 for surgery or we could put her down. I took her home and just massaged her back couple times a day and within a week, she was fine. Jump like a horse now 5 years later

My daughter has a French Bulldog. It had problems with the stomach and it turned out to be an allergy to something in the food.

It has also too narrow airways so it needs surgery. 💸💸💸

Update...
Much better today, right or wrong, I gave him some anti inflamitries he was given a few weeks ago by the vet (unrelated issue)...
Throughout the day he's got steadily better, to the point now that it's as if nothing was wrong at all... Normal vet visit next week I think for a check up!
