hey guys. New to the game. I seem to be a bit lost. Any advice for a new player?
Thank you in advance

Hey man, check out the help forum for some great info and also if you go to the top mob page then select the mob tab and click on mickey dunns profile check out his comment wall for a guide. Also, you should delete your invite code from this thread as invite codes can only be posted in the invite forum, posting it anywhere else can earn you a forum ban!

I think there should be a warning for the code thing.. how are new players supposed to know?
-
There is I believe, never tested it myself. But have to admire the class of other players taking the time to comment bye as opposed to giving a shit. I'd take mayhems advice and if you still find yourself lost feel free to give me a shout

Also, if you type in your code or even quote someone's phrase that coincidentally has your code in it, it'll give the warning of a ban as well as telling you not to advertise anywhere else but the Invite Code Forum.VLΔDΙΜΙRᵀᴸ wrote:

Still, put yourself in a noob's mindset of just clicking OK to everything. There definitely should be a better type of notification warning.

Beware of Canadians they're tougher than they seem

Aww what a shame

So, Circles disregarded the "No invite codes" message at the create new topic heading, disregarded the warning that appeared when he tried to post his code, and ignored (or didn't see) a message from at least 1 player telling him to delete his post.
He obviously wasn't game-banned as he's been sending plenty of PM's to have people post in here on his behalf. So he got a 24? 48? hour forum ban, and then ignored the advice people gave him about messaging support informing them he realizes he disregarded the rules and won't do it again.
2 or more clear messages from the game, 2 or more clear messages from players...
Remind me again how this is support's fault and not his own?

Is the banned for code-posting thing kinda chicken-shit? Yeah, probably, now. But at the time it was implemented, why do you think it was?
Because support has this brilliant business model of reeling players in then tricking them into getting banned?
Or because "vets" bitched to them about too many players posting their codes in GD?
I'm as loud as anyone bitching about the bugs, support ignoring feedback, or their "If you don't like it put the phone down" responses.
But, for once, it would seem like the player here was a bigger dumbass than support.

My issue with this whole situation is the game is not friendly for new players, the tutorial is shit, there is litte to no direction provided by the devs, fuck mickey dunn does more for this game than the devs do. That's b/s, i doubt even 1 in 100 players make it to the 6 month mark and what are they doing to improve that? Opening more airports and releasing more brens...lol

Disagree^^^^
There are tutorials, there's a forum called help and strategy for new players who want to learn. Problem is, people don't want to take the time and read.
There are flaws for new players. How do you balance A: making it easy to grow in this game, without b: pissing off all of the vets who have put in years of support.
Personally, I think a lot of vets make life tough for the new guys. People are too trigger happy and pound new guys who say anything on the forums that they don't like. That runs off a lot of new guys too.
Chucky said it best. There are plenty of warnings to not post the code, INCLUDING a pop up before you post. I personally don't feel bad for the ones who aren't paying attention. I remember the early days when GD was full of codes. Sure don't have that problem anymore.

I'm not gonna claim I know the whole story, I only know what I see in this thread and that doesn't include any code - presumably because support deleted it /or he deleted it but regardless a temp forum ban to someone with 100 mob is ridiculous (they obviously aren't going to know the forum rules and etiquette (yes I know you get a warning message but sure we've all done it - think I remember accidentally posting my code in GD when I had 25k mob - fortunately for me a friend let me know the error of my ways and I immediately removed it - resulting in NO ban ).
But, for once, it would seem like the player here was a bigger dumbass than support.
Anyway think the ban rule should be relaxed now - yes if a newbie posts his code in GD ON MULTIPLE OCCASSIONS AND IGNORES ADVICE TO THE CONTRARY THEN BAN THEM BUT NOT ON A FIRST MISTAKE, 😡😡😡 (sorry for caps lock I'm really not SHOUTING 😃👍)

I'm actually quite impressed the guy had actually found the forums so soon after starting - think it took me about 3 months to find it
Plus I don't think newbies should have to go looking for any information - it should, in the main be spoon fed to them
Or maybe alter the 'intelligent' error message - "it appears you are trying to post your invite code in the forum, if you would like to post your code click 'here' " (which then redirects you to the Invite forum).

Edd needs a tutorial on quoting posts.

He saw the warning but did what he wanted because he feels entitled to do whatever he wants. Damn whippersnappers.
-
Have you guys read the warning? Lol "if this isn't an "add me" post please hit okay...
I would ignore that too as a new player.
That is a warning for players who know the forum etiquette, which is also quite evident by the amount of noobs who post their codes. And turf warrior, if people aren't going to read through 4 years of forums to figure out how to Play then it is the responsibility of the devs to make it easier, the #'s for retained players speaks for itself.
