Shocking video! Shocking! I'm so shocked!
Is it 900 billion or 9 trillion? Why doesn't she call him on that error?
"Uhhh, yeah. I read it in the paper. Something about billions or trillions, I can't remember. Tell me about that. What is that?"
"Dude. Get real."

Let's get back to basics.
Money in the United States is not valuable. It represents units of production. Dollars are like inches on a ruler. They are a measurement, and have no specific link to what it is they measure. Inches on a ruler and dollars can be reused to measure new lengths, or new production.
The paper itself has no value. We just need enough of it to measure the GDP.
When people begin to trade in the value of dollars, that's when it all falls apart. "Mr. Builder, how can you account for the 900 billion inches you cumulatively used to measure steel in that building?"
The building is what it is. The tape measures aren't part of it.
That congressman doesn't get it.

Do you all have any idea how hard it is to process out federal loans fast enough to pump that much cash into the economy? The workload is intense. People were brought back into service and staged in empty office buildings to push the money out 24x7.
"Where did the money go?"
"We loaned it out, you silly fucknut."
"Yeah, but to who?"
"(Is this guy kidding?) To the economy. You want a list of people and businesses? What?"
"No, I just want a two word answer for your $9T spending assignment."
"(We voted this dipshit in office?)"

1)There is not now, nor has there ever been $9,000,000,000 missing from the Federal Reserve.
2)Grayson does not allege that there is any money missing from the Federal Reserve. He asks Coleman, "What have you done to investigate the off-balance sheet transactions conducted by the Federal Reserve, which according to Bloomberg now total $9 trillion in the last eight months." Look up what "off-balance-sheet" means. It does not mean "missing".
3)Grayson was wrong about what the Bloomberg article said. The $9.7 trillion dollar figure was the total from adding together all the potential maximum liability of all the bailout progams of the Treasury, plus the Federal Reserve, plus the FDIC. The actual amount spent or lent was much, much less.
4)None of the emergency loan programs from the Federal Reserve lost money. The Fed made a profit from them, almost all of which was paid to the United States Treasury. The Federal Reserve paid the US government $47 billion in 2009, $79 billion in 2010, and $75 billion in 2011.
