Old as it may be, the way Hitch said it, I lolled.

At the wailing wall in Jerusalem, I came across an Orthodox Jew that seemed to be particularly devout, praying with his whole heart, twisting his sideburns in knots, crying, bobbing, kissing the wall and putting in his bits of paper.

I was impressed. I asked him what he was praying for. He said he wanted peace and love for everyone in Israel, Jews, Palestinians, Christians...

"How's it working out?"

"Sometimes it feels like I'm talking to a brick wall."
