once Nick allows us to heal or run missions from the watch, I am in. until then, my Dora the Explorer watch is holding up just fine.

This is literary future life goals.

Not only is it over priced. I've heard that a lot of the features of the watch will not be available in Canada for a while... Still not goingt o buy one anyway. Not to mention only an 18hr battery life. So your charging it as you sleep most likely. And I think it has its own charge cord so now you need another charge cable..... Thanks apple(sarcasm)

I was going to buy the one with the basic leather band, but that's $500 rather than the $350 I thought. Only the sport is $350. So probably not.

Interesting ... I don't know an adult or kid who wants one. Could this be Apple's first serious flop in the Tim Cook era? Or will it sell a zillion units?
-
It looks like a fun toy, but WAY too overpriced. I like my iToys but not enough to spend that much. The cheap, crappy looking one is over 500. Definitely not worth the price.
-
No. It's not practical. Also I think they're other smart watches out there too.

My dad has a Moto 360. It's pretty cool and cheaper than the iwatch. I may get one of those.

No TW, no way.

From an investing perspective, it seems a lot of sales will be medically related. Im not sure of this watch's capabilities, but technology will be able to monitor blood pressure, heart activity, etc from a watch... Now consider the baby boomer cohort of the population. Many will be required to wear one, others will choose to. There is a lot of potential here. It may not pay off the r&d immediately, but the potential makes me happy as a shareholder of aapl. All that said, no, im not buying one. I personally believe men arent supposed to wear jewelry. Now pay me my dividends.

Touching on what daisy said about if it'll be a flop- I think it'll sell just fine. There's plenty of people with plenty of money. They'll sell a ton and cheaper iterations will come in a year or two. Which will fix the issue of them being to expensive for most everyone else. -
Nope, I'd rather have a real watch that lasts more than a day.
-
Only Apple can get away with selling a watch that only tells time 18 hours of the day. 😂
-
Not even an ounce of interest.

... Hopefully this game (TW) lasts another year and we can compare notes. I just don't think it has the impact of the iPod (1000 songs in your pocket) or the iPad (which I know a bunch of you nerds rushed out like me to buy). The news is that Apple Watches have sold out on preorder but shortage manufactured by Apple?

I'll bet a lot of you would buy one if you found out that it would alert you to a TW attack.

Went into an Apple Store to check them out in the weekend. Neat little toy, but I don't see much functionality. A lot of the apps only work when linked to your phone, so seemed kinda pointless. Is there anyone here who is going to buy one?
I laughed when the sales person said it doesn't include a camera yet... You just know what iwatch 2.0 will have, lol.
I think they will sell a shit ton of them right off the bat, but the product won't have much staying powe. My 2 cents.
They were on back ordered until June where I was.

Price it at $150 and no need to tether to iPhone and I might use it as a workout / travel device ... Even then, I'm don't like the thing measuring me every two seconds ... Apple's 'most personal device' in an age where personal privacy is becoming something that requires constant vigilance is not appetizing.

Update: The Dora watch still working fine. Thanks for those that asked. Just had to change the battery for first time in 3 years.
-
I may buy the Iwatch 4 but since you need a iPhone with the Iwatch for most applications, no camera, short battery life and at that price! No way. Did anyone buy the iPhone 1 or 2?

I collect watches. But, no. In fact, hell no.
18k gold case (probably $50 worth of gold) with a leather band, 18 hr battery life, $17k? For a watch that will be obsolete next year? What a joke.
For the HR and fitness crap, I have a Garmin 301 that's 10+ years old. Takes a AAA battery. Washable cloth band. Never needed upgrading.

If you think the Apple watch makes you look like Dick Tracy, your half right.
