Any plans on allowing name changes on the site (low priority ofc)
-
Most user friendly code site I've used. Thanks BN 😈👍🏼
-
your temps seems fine but you have one player who has entered a massive number of dead codes of non existent players. you need to remove those
-
Am I the only one getting "error logging in"?
Ive made 2 different acounts and true to log in on both to no avail

What is this? Facebook? This ain't no social site, son. This is where you hide in the bathroom with your iPad and feed your addiction. I got what you need. The precious, precious invite codes soaked in bleach, ready for intravenous consumption. It's not fancy, or clean. But it's there in a dark alley when you need your fix at 4 in the morning. How do you access your profile? To change names and such.
You want a profile? Try Twitter. You want codes? Welcome to Mother Superior's.

Done, but I'm not sure why. :)Brown, is there anyway to set preferences so NEW codes are displayed first? Great, clean interface. Nice work!

I think you should modify numbers to be a different color to stop people from mixing up letters and numbers, like O & 0 it's easier to see

The username BumpyK just keeps adding numbers. Today 140 to 160 or so was posted. It's lame. Yeah, I have actually gotten a few invites sent, but I'm assuming most of those are inactive now. I'd rather see someone who actually is contributing new codes getting rewarded on the top ten contributors list.m00sekill wrote:

Once everyone gets a chance to understand the etiquette of the service, I will think about the best way to enforce it. My guess is that code adding will be a default ability for everyone, but those that are flagged by the community will not be able to contribute any more.
Given the next feature I'm working on, -Bumping contributor's codes every time they add a new code-, People will not want to be restricted and will hopefully behave themselves.
-
Yes I saw the addition you made to encourage only new codes. Nice. Also nice on gnawing the font of the codes bigger. Easier to punch from my iPad now. My old eyes aren't as strong as they used to be.

Heya Brown, nice job on getting the site up so quickly. It is coming along nicely! Regarding this topic, have you asked Nick for a way to validate codes in real time? I think a large proportion of bad codes could be filtered out immediately at "add-time" if such a service was available.Once everyone gets a chance to understand the etiquette of the service, I will think about the best way to enforce it. "Add-time" filtering does not preclude the need to "vote up" bad codes within the community, however, since it is possible for users to change their codes via the Don.
If a code has been voted by the community as "bad" (3 votes? 5 votes? 10 votes?), I think the ultimate acid test is to let Nick be the source of truth via some sort of code validation API. In my opinion, that would be better than just auto-deleting codes and/or auto-banning users after some arbitrary number of "bad" votes. -
I guess where I'm going with this is that I fear that peeps may be wrongly penalized or even kicked from your site as a result of their enemies gang-voting against them. To keep a level playing field, Nick should be the source of truth when it comes to code validity. My $0.02.

That's a good point. My intention would be to only prevent them from adding new codes; not kicking them from the site. We will find a balance. I've noticed a lot of users are not using the same username that they are in the game... Maybe I can somehow hash or change the display of the usernames so people can identify troublemakers, but not see the real username. Nick offered a one time validation of a batch of codes, but there has keen no mention of an API that would validate one at a time as of yet.

👆 brilliant (and I don't even punch codes)

I just did some major performance tuning on the database schema and queries. There should be no more waiting between pages.
If you have any issues, please send me a PM.
Thanks!

New Feature:
Now when you add any code to the database, YOUR code gets bumped up to the top for those that haven't punched your code yet. It works even if you set "Newest First" in your preferences.
You must put your code in the database, and identify your code in your preferences for the bump to work.
This was requested by several users, including the DUNN.

BN... Thanks again for your reliable service. Your commitment and ability to create and quickly improve such a site is so truly appreciated by many of us.
I wish I knew how to punch my way out of a virtual bag.

Thanks for your support.
There are more changes in the works. I think the next big one is a way to stop the spammers.
New codes. New codes. New codes.
If you put in old codes farmed from the historic section, lists such as "E" codes, or enough invalid codes, you will lose your ability to add new codes, and with that the ability to bump your own code and rank on the top contributor's list.
This is next.
Thanks again everyone for your support!

Well done and thank you

I do have a fear with this one. Each day I hit up 40-50 players with less than 2k mob asking for their code. If they send it to me and I confirm its valid, I try adding it. Some of them have been posted before on the "historic" page and I have no way of knowing. I'd hate to get banned by adding a few historic codes each week. Thanks for your support.

But maybe if this did happen I would just need to contact you. If so and I can get unbanned and my added codes get me back on the top contributors list, then that's fine.
