Vacation in Italy for 25th anniversary. 3 weeks total, with the middle week being a part of a culinary tour.
My wife is Italian-Lebanese. She doesn't need to learn much about cooking, but she found it to be everything she hoped for. We visited 5 different wineries, had cooking lessons with 3 famous chefs, went truffle hunting, and ate in the homes of 3 different families.
Two of our 12-person group got pick-pocketed on a train. The husband realized immediately when we got off the train. Three of our wives jumped back on the train, I jumped back on and pulled the emergency switch. Lights and sirens went off like the Fourth of July! I always wanted to pull a switch like that!

Our three wives happened to be retired teachers, and they weren't going take shit from anyone. They chased down the gypsies, got the two wallets back, and no money was lost.
Us men had a little too much to drink before getting on the train and probably attracted the attention of our adversaries. Don't mess with teachers!
During the first week, my wife and I decided to rent a moped and went winding through narrow streets, cruised on awesome highways with great views, and went up steep hills via switchbacks. At one point, I got stuck behind a bus, and freaked out when it started to move backwards toward us. I gassed the moped, swiped into the back of the bus, then hit head first into a 1000 year-old wall. We didn't get hurt, and nothing was damaged, so we took off like bats out of hell with our tails tucked.
We ended the vacation looking over the Adriatic Sea. 25 years ago we were across that sea, on a honeymoon in Greece.

I'm tied between my first trip and and the first with my wife. First was a training exercise in Germany, first time out of the states, first time I learned that beer can taste good. Went to regensburg and Nuremberg. First out of country trip with my wife was a 10 day trip, 7 day cruise. Flew into Venice, then cruised to Split, Croatia, and several Greek islands and cities.

Continue.
Saw the Parthenon, I stood on the first Olympic start line, it was pretty neat. Tried all sorts of foods, and grappas and learned that it's okay to be an arrogant American because Italians, and later discovered French, only despise you more if you make an attempt to learn their customs.

What kind of bike, a bobby car?
Or did you drive backwards?Or did you just not understand the italians after asking for the way and drove via Paris?

Two years until I retire. Bought a sailboat. I'm outfitting it for a Great Loop. Down the mississippi, inter coastal to florida, up the east coast to NY, then across the Great Lakes back to wisconsin. Should take about a year.

😁living in paradise I can say any day I ryd would qualify! Each of the Hawaiian islands has something wonderful to offer... Some day I would love to ryd circle island each one...
TJ was fun, I love to snowboard in Banff, tracing my family roots in "new found land" visiting the townships my ancestors founded was amazing to say the least... I even got to visit inside the pentagon.
Hopes of travel to Paris, former Bohemia, Ireland, Germany and the Philippines to trace family roots... and since HS my dream destination has been Japan & Okinawa😊 -

Cozumel, Mexico four years ago. It's a beautiful place and I recommend the all inclusive resort, El Cozumeleno!

A couple friends of mine took me to Laredo on what was supposed to be a simple "business" trip. Just a quick overnight pick up and back 😉. It happened to be my birthday that week and they found out about it on the way there. It turned into an all week party. Let's just say all you hear about the cartels isn't that bad. They didn't even know me but knowing the right people they showed me much love. VIP every night at every strip club and dance club in Laredo. Safe to say that even on a Monday-Thursday the clubs in Laredo don't slow down. The city does not sleep and the females are drop dead gorgeous!
Anybody ever go to Laredo just remeber....Thursday's is hip hop night at F bar and that shit be poppin. (Don't know why someone would name a bar after a single letter)
