When it comes to Rap, I prefer old school stuff (maybe it's because I'm 45, lol). Afrika Bambatta is one of my favorites and considered by many to be the father of modern rap.

grim I'm all for rap but a handful of these guys copy from classic rock.. Look at jayz " allow me to introduce myself" I believe it was led zepplin he got that from.. I got into this on an old thread I think.. There's so many rappers that do it.. Btw if you listen to "Bob Dylan" he was a rapper of his time

I used to do listen to 95% underground and 5% mainstream. Lately (2010) I've been mostly mainstream, underground became more boring and mainstream became less boring.

Everyone's a killer, drug dealer, rich, gully, sophisticated, etc. all rapped in one, it's repetitive and wack. Makes me wanna pull a Yung Berg on one of them and I'm not even like that.

I get mixtapes from Datpiff.
