I'm looking at starting rabbit shooting come next year and looking into a decent .22 or .177 to do so. I've looked at hundreds of different guns now but there's nothing like a bit of user info to aid the process :)

I've never shot a .22 'caliber' air rifle before, but my first gun was a daisy and it lasted for ever and I was dead accurate with it. After that gun I got a Beeman which was super fancy and had a crazy fps to it and it had interchangeable barrels so you could use either .22 or .177!

Lol if you're not in a residential area get a 4-10 shot gun to hunt rabbits and squirrels screw an air rifle

I've never shot anything less than .22. Depending on the area, I would advise a Ruger 10/22, I managed to get a squirell in the ear at 30 feet. 10/22s are like ARs in the attachment possibilities.

In all seriousness, if you want to hunt rabbit or squirrel, pick up a .22. If you just want to ping them to chase them off your property an air rifle is fine.

I have a Henry lever action 22 and its a blast. Also have an old Daisy air rifle for the backyard that keeps the neighborhood squirrels honest.

almost any kind of pellet gun will kill a rabbit though

Thing is I can't have anything more than an air rifle due to previous convictions... Tales of a misspent youth. But that's another story

I've been looking at the new walther terrus, it's a springer but straight out of the box it's running at 11.7 flb!!
