I was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and depression a couple years ago. I've been feeling suicidal ever since my family moved in April. How do you guys and girls suggest dealing with suicidal thoughts?

Need help? In the U.S., call 1-800-273-8255

There are many possible treatments for depression, but I always follow Rule #1: Don't do it.
-
Please speak to your parents. Be honest with a professional about your feelings. God bless you with healing.
-
Think about the family and friends who would miss you
-
1. The world doesn't suck. You just think it does. Next week, you will probably see things differently. Ride it out. Things always get better with time when you are at the bottom.
2. If you are going to disappear, why not just take it on the road, or the sea? Start over. If the pressures in your life are actually too much to bear, making drastic changes is probably better than killing yourself, for you and everyone that cares about you.
3. You will die. What's the rush? Go find enjoyment in life. It's out there for everyone, even you.
4. Use your near-death perspective to not give a fuck, and you will stress less.
5. Exercise your body. Natural happy drugs work wonders.
6. Get help if you need it. They will help you make this list of coping skills much longer. It's all in your mind. Think different.

I've lived with depression med-free for about two years now.
The meds made me worse and I got violent from them so i cut down and eventually took myself off of them. Some self meds that actually work is exercise, it relieves stress and releases endorphins. The worse thing for me was talking(and still is) as it hurts peoples pride but the community here is vast and you wont be alone if you just ask for help. Here to talk if ANYBODY needs it😃 -
You have a case of acute teenagerism. Not to belittle what you're going through because it IS a tough time, but be assured it will pass. Good luck to you.
-
Look for a DBT group in your area. It's great for learning coping skills. Like an operators manual for life.

I know it's a cliché but there will always be sunshine after the rain.
After being raised in a family where depression is kinda the family past-time I surly learned that life is what you make of it, and life can be just f*cking awesome if the circumstances are right. Good thing is that you really can control a good part of your own circumstances. Exercise, go out, meet new people, seek help etc. All good tips as mentioned above.
Just remember, you're not the first and surely not the last who is feeling depressed. Keep strong and never, never, never give up!
Good luck!

I'm with you ojibwe.. Not to say that you're not going through a rough time, and I don't know your whole situation, but when I was a teen there wasn't a month in the year where I wasn't depressed. I graduated highschool, now I'm 20 and chose my surrounds ei:I choose the people I hang around with, I found a job I love, I am going to school in a field I'm in love with. What I'm trying to say is, don't be short sided and end your life because of a hard couple of years. Trooper through the shit and I almost garauntee you won't regret itYou have a case of acute teenagerism. And you suffer from being a total prick. Or I should say the rest of us suffer from you being a total prick. Mental illness is not a joke. Asperger's doesn't just "pass," and it has nothing to do with being a teenager. Depression and suicide are unfortunately more prevalent among those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, because they have more trouble leaning on the social crutch and tend to live inside their heads. It sucks, don't make a joke of it.You have a case of acute teenagerism. Not to belittle what you're going through because it IS a tough time, but be assured it will pass. Good luck to you.

i bet you're the kind of asshole who made fun of and told depressed people that they should stop being sad, should die, and stop feeling sorry for themselves.
people like you make me sick to my stomach.

I have previously dealt with this, I was clinically diagnosed in 2010 with depression. I was then put on a preventive care list in 2011 because of suicidal tendencies. I have since been released from the dark cloud that hung over my head and found something I loved and could be committed to, forgetting about the bad things life threw at me. You are not depressed because of a syndrome or event, but simply because that's how you are. I would suggest finding something you love, search for it. It is out there. If you or anyone else needs any help, ever. Please pm me immediately. I lost my father to suicidal tendencies and almost lost my own life. Start building a new life, by talking to someone who has been there before.I was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and depression a couple years ago. I have previous been extremely suicidal. But what made me change was roughly 1 1/2 years ago my cousin who was 17 commited suicide. Worst feeling I have ever felt. Just like I was hit by a truck. It is completely unfair to do that to your family and friends absolutely unfair. But anyways, ride the shit out it will get better. Ik everyone will say that but it's true. Call a suicide prevention hotline. Ik it sounds really weird and all but I did it and it wasnt half bad. Life has it's ups and downs. Yah Teen years seem to be mostly down but it gets better.idk your situation or anything but trust me it's not worth it. You'll go to college, get a job, get a wife and have kids. Your life will become so much better. Ik this is prob not the best advice but my bestfriend did this few years back and did wonders for him, but if u can't deal with it anymore just pack up and leave. No reason you should have to end ur live cause others are making it miserable. Don't do it. Be strong brother
-
Remember that it's not forever, no matter how much it feels like it is. Even the worst storm has to end
-
I know sometimes life sucks. But it doesn't mean you kill yourself. Everyone have to deal with something. Take therapy. Do something that makes you happy! Also imagine how would people react. Your parents sobbing at your grave. You don't want that.

Most important thing to understand is you are not alone. Lots of good advice has been suggested. Talk to someone, a friend, a teacher, call the 1800 numbers but talk to someone. I have been where you are and I find listening to music helps, find something that speaks to you and puts a smile on your face and go from there.I was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and depression a couple years ago. As you can see, people do CARE for you. You are a very important person. Try to enjoy every tiny single beautiful thing in your life. I'm sure you can see them. Otherwise, you wouldn't have asked us for help. Hugs!

I used to be depressed. I found comedy helps a lot. Some times depression doesn't really need a reason to be there, it's just there. Best thing to do is be surrounded by the ones you're closest to or if you take the lonely approach, just watch and listen to a bunch of comedy shows (stand up, improv, stretches, etc, etc)

Think of everything you have ever done. Think of everything you ever felt. Then decide if you think its worth it, never doing those things again, or seeing those friends/family again. If it IS worth it for you, then I highly doubt you will find a working treatment.I was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome and depression a couple years ago.
