if people put restrictions on what they them selfs to to eat are you obligated to cook a whole different meal just for them

tell them to bring their own food that they cooked OR just order food for them from a restaurant

I think the common courtesy is that if they mention it beforehand you have something for then to eat but you don't have to adjust the entire meal for them. Most likely, they'll bring they're own food anyways.

If they don't mention it until they're already at your house, too bad for them.

I always just cook what I was originally planning on. If they want or need anything different then they are welcome to bring it! I'm not offended by it! I just had 30 people over for dinner and made 50 pounds of turkey...one of my guests brought to go boxes, passed them out to everyone announcing, "fill them up! Take what you want!!!" Literally, all of my food they we spent 2 days preparing went out the door!!! Smh...I don't think that is acceptable at all!!!

Absolutely not acceptable. If guests are welcome to take the food it is the hosts job to say so.
