Melee vs gun

I'm a newish player and its seems I can buy for melee items then fire arm and I will have a overall more damage and melee. Is there something I'm missing? Like is guns better then brass knuckles and other stuff, is there a range advantage?

Your mob members can carry a mellee, a gun/weapon and an armor. Hope that helps!

This belongs in the help thread. But no as far as I know there is no "range advantage"
