You're the driver of a bus. At the first stop you take on 2 passengers; at the next 7 get on; next stop 5 get off and 15 get on. Next stop 2 get off then 1 gets on. Then 12 get off and 7 get on.
What's the name of the bus driver? -

This is a puzzle, not a riddle but it is a good old one...Three men are captured by cannibals in the jungle. The men are given one chance to escape with their lives. The men are lined up and bound to stakes such that one man can see the backs of the other two, the middle man can see the back of the front man, and the front man can't see anybody. The men are shown five hats, three of which are black and two of which are white. Then the men are blindfolded, and one of the five hats is placed on each man's head. The remaining two hats are hidden away. The blindfolds are removed. The men are told that if just one of the men can guess what hat he's wearing, they may all go free. Time passes. Finally, the front man, who can't see anyone, correctly guesses the color of his hat. What color was it, and how did he guess correctly?

Hint: The key to the puzzle is time passes...
-
Hint#2: if the man in the back had seen two white hats on the men in front of him, he would have immediately said he had a black hat on....but since he didn't say anything...

Ok so.....If front and middle were wearing white - back would know he has black, he didnt. So he doesnt know.Hint: The key to the puzzle is time passes...
Middle can see front is wearing black but he could be wearing white so he doesnt know either, Now front knows he and middle arent wearing both wearing white but if middle saw white he would know he had black as back didnt see 2 white hats, but middle obviously didnt see white so front must be wearing black - that make sense❔lol -

You got it. It is solved by logical progression as you indicated. Useful method for real life problem troubleshooting also (since there you hardly ever can see the whole picture).xambler wrote:
