Understanding the Certusd War:
For the last month a war has been fought between old enemies. What started as a small scale scuffle on a familiar battleground would escalate into a short lived world-wide conflict. This article explores the history, cause, and status of the Certused War
The History:
The flash-point for the Certusd War would occur on familiar grounds: The Isle of Wight. The Island, located in the English channel, south of mainland England, has a long a bloody Turf Wars history. These sacred grounds were the scene of several battles between TWFC and their united enemies. The players that now occupy the Isle of Wight are the veterans - and ultimately the victors - of those wars. The island is considered a long and hard fought victory.

Certusd and CAPO:
Cert is a long time player with a history of fighting. A former TWFC member, Cert formed his own alliance in 2013. The alliance, commonly called referred to as "Cert's group", would include players such as Mrs. Daisy, Funky Buffalo, Bugsy1, Gameplan, Pizzaguy, RLMON, ThatTallKid, and Daveydakid (among others). After weeks of tension and small incidents between Cert's Group and CAPO in the spring of 2013, the uneasy peace between the groups would come to a head as the inevitable war ensued. Aside from the typical battle for Ontario, the largest fight was for the control of cities within the United Kingdom. Certusd would be dealt a decisive defeat following the battle for Sheffield, and eventually fade from the "fighting scene", choosing a quieter TW existence.

War!
Fast forward to August, 2014: After discovering Certusd had invited himself onto the Isle of Wight, the island's controllers decided that the unwelcomed former enemy would need to be removed. And so, in early August, the first shots of the war were fired when Fachan, long time CAPO member, capped Cert's turf on the island. Certusd took great offense to the aggression, and proceed to cap tagged members of the CAPO alliance. The lines were drawn, and war would ensue. Certusd issued a general call to the TW community, requesting assistance in fighting CAPO.

Players that answered the call:
Certusd's ranks would swell immediately. Long time CAPO enemies would re-join Certusd - adopting his name and cause against CAPO. This includes long time capo enemies such as Daisy, Bugsy, and Midnite. Other players would also flock to Certusd cause. Neutral and former allies in the Groucho War would take up arms against CAPO, including the members of the Nomads Alliance, DBR Alliance and TWFC remnants. Independent players, notably Zraygo (Beauty), Groucho, and Big Red V would also join the Certusd cause. Other's would join temporarily, including Vanweed joining an anti-capo Vendetta and hitting CAPO members in Quebec.

CAPO and their Allies
Although caught off guard, CAPO would regain it's footing and begin an offensive on any players that joined the Certusd cause. CAPO would gain support and fighting power as their traditional allies assisted against the Certusd combined forces. Members from the STARS alliance and BAIC alliance, as well as various independent players, would contribute to the combined offensive against the Certusd forces.
Hot Spots:
Battles were fought in Ontario, Quebec, Singapore, Berlin, Isle of Wight, Brighton, Various UK cities, Russia, and California, among other locations. Most of the fighting has been less organized and small group based, as opposed to the large siege style tactics.

Status:
Certusd disappeared from the fight about two weeks ago. Many of the players that followed him would "detag" from the Certusd font, and revert back to their previous names. While it is unknown why he left the fight, inside source have indicated much of the spirit of the battle left with him. As one player stated "this war proved exactly what's wrong with turf wars. Instead of changing the landscape, all the traditional allies teamed up to smash us. What's the point".
A not-so-new alliance is formed:
A new group has risen out of the ashes of the Certusd war. Familiar faces have been seen wearing new tags - R1H. This group continues the fight. When asked what the tags stand for, Daisy replied:
“Here at least we shall be free; the Almighty hath not built
Here for his envy, will not drive us hence:
Here we may reign secure, and in my choice to reign is worth ambition though in Hell:
Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven.”🐝

Following a short hiatus from TW, the million plus fight warrior, TG, has found a new home. Members from CAPO look forward to fighting along side the grizzled vet.
PIngas Resets (again):
For reasons unknown, pingas has reset and quit the game. The former nomad alliance member can be found lingering in the [turf tales news room].
TTnews seeks writers:
Rumor has it - the publication is looking to make a regular return. Can't do it without the community. Throw me a bone if you want to see this thing kept alive.
