Votes are in... Scotland has decided to stay a part of the UK.

The most important thing this means is that the Union Jack can stay Red white and blue!

On a so serious note, I know there were different opinions and some people won't be happy, but personally, I think it's great.

And demon... You obviously couldn't fix enough votes 😉

The American colonists weren't exactly united with Britain. The UK parliament was taxing them even though they weren't represented in Parliament.

I think Scotland made a mistake. Hopefully they have another vote in the near future and split.

As Barry Vertigo pointed out- its s totally different situation.
IMHO if Scotland went 'Yes' there was a gigantic logistcal mess to sort through. It would have taken years and no doubt with a lot of people suffering for nothing but pride. They're better off united.

We don't know if we would be better or worse off. It was all legal and political opinion but not fact in the campaigns. Life just isn't bad enough in Scotland for a majority indepence result.

Good point about 'life not being bad enough'. In the end, that's always the main seed of revolution.
However- my point about being better off, is too big a topic to set off here, but again... The logistical nightmare of it compounded by the uncertainty is huge.

We're talking about everything- banking, borders, power grid, military, communications , infrastructure, healthcare, etc.

And all this to be financed and propped up with the speculation of oil is just too thin and seems risky.

You get the idea. Well again.. that's my humble opinion on it.

I wish the Scotts all the best- they should be proud. They already are a great nation 👍

Eh, but they really weren't taxed that much, the reason it fell apart was because the american businessmen didn't want any tax, so they used scare tactics to make the people nervous, which led to more control by the British.

A country with just over 5 million people doesn't have the population to be a world power on its own and at the same time their loss would've taken England's world power status away. It's been predicted that uk would have had to leave both the eu and nato. With the sate the world is in right now this was just an did horrible poorly thought out idea
