I'm from my. Definitely wtc museum. Go to Astoria queens for the best food (30th & stienway). Brooklyn williamsburg has a bar called berry Park check that out. And so many other places.
1.battery Park
2.astoria Park
3 . Brooklyn bagel ( astoria)
4.tonys Italian restaurant ( Manhattan)
And it all depends what's your interest

Cool. Washington state? Or dc im assuming? You might consider coastal florida, the keys maybe instead of orlando if you dont have kids. Unless you really want disney world. The united states is huge. Everything you are considering is in the East. The middle part of the country and the West are completely different. You might consider heading west if you have the time. New york will be fun just walking around. Lots to see and do by just wandering.

Take a bus tour at night. Great way to see the city at night with all the lights.

Also I recommend taking a walk through Central Park. Very peaceful. Don't forget to ride the subway! :)

Try geocaching. There are tons of them all over NY.
