Hey guys, my brother has an opiate addiction (more specifically, Oxy) and is in rehab right now. What are your experiences with drug addictions?

Is TW a drug? I'm addicted to that. Not that drug addiction is really something to make light of.

Unfortunately you may be in for a long fight. Opiate abuse changes people. Trust will always be an issue. Something like this is up to him to stop, all you can do is be supporting and don't help in a bad way, out of sympathy. (Giving money for anything/an addict will get high first)
I lost two very young cousins and a few friends to opiates. Good luck.

Thanks. I've learned to not give him anything that could be returned or sold. If he needs food or anything, we eat it together.

Never get angry at him for his addiction. I know ill probably catch some flak for this but most addicts need a stable family. But you cant just let him push you around for money and from what it sounds like you're good on that front. Family is forever so dont let his addicition come between you. Along the line he'll probably fuck up. It happens a lot to all recovering addicts. But dont let what he does to feed his addiction break you to apart. Its a physical dependance not what he wants and thats the one of if not the most important things to remember.

My brother was addicted to opiates. I was addicted to ecstasy and percs since the age of 14 but ive been clean for 4 years in november👌 my bit of advice is dont give him a penney for drugs ever. Everyone has to be real strict on it. If you feel like your being an a hole to him remember your not being an a hole to him your being an a hole to the addiction. And dont be mad at him. But dont support it either. Beating addiction takes tough love and hard work no half ass attempt is gonna cut it

Also don't expect miracles after rehab. Rehab is almost never a one shot thing. Statistically, it's not likely to stick.

Why do people try hard drugs there scary i can understand liqoir and weed but not hard drugs or tabbaco products since tabbaco is pointless and boring.
