Did y'all see where he ran that guy over? It looked like he did it on purpose.

Ward should've stayed in his car rather than get out to run his mouth. Stewart shouldn't have rolled up on ward and then gunned it away like that. Those cars are squirrely on the dirt. An unfortunate accident that could've been easily avoided. Too much outlaw imaging around racing. Everyone wants to be macho first and safe second.

Watched it countless times. Ward was incensed and bordering out of control. The white car narrowly missed him first. At night in all black and on the exit of a corner. I don't think Stewart saw him until it was too late. Besides the fact that he exited the vehicle before the safty crew had a chance to get there. Unless your in immediate danger, remain in the vehicle, put netting down for a early sign your ok.
Unfortunately this young man let his emotions get the better of him, ending tragically. No one comes out of this unhurt, all involved feel it. Sad.

Yep, being a rebel is glamorized in american racing at this time. I can't speak for other nations. But I'm sure it's there to some extent.

The aggression competitors have that excels them to win can easily bleed over into insanity. People biting shoulders and ears running into traffic stomping on another players head the list goes on and on. This is a small glimps into people in general when anger and frustration collide depending on the levels determines the outcome.

it sucks that the guy died, but he did get out of his car and walked onto a track where cars were racing.
