What do y'all think of the supreme courts ruling about Hobby Lobby? Good? Bad? I want to hear your thoughts. P.S. Please let this be a mature discussion, and not just a bunch of people screaming at each other

Probably never had sex either.

Here's my input. The government should have no control over how a private company cares for its employees. Now I might be a clueless idiot but my views will not be changed

Please don't turn this thread into a fight with Roy. There are other threads for that

As a matter of principal, companies should offer healthcare to their employees, but the government should have no say in the matter

Because the government is too powerful as is. If they get control of private business, we are all fuckedThe government has a say over everything y should birth control be any different?

As the Capo of Hobby Lobby in Alabama, my policy will be coverage for birth control, medical weed, abortions, plus an extra stipend paid out in 1 dollar bills for strippers.

It has nothing to do with a "war on women" it has to do with separation of church and state, religious freedom, and personal liberties. It also has to do with the owners religious beliefs. They have and should have complete control over what they offer their employees and why
-
Just to clear something up. Employer provided healthcare is not a "right" and it never will be. It can be a bonus to the payment being received and it should be left up to the discretion of the employer

Now you're trying to tell people what kind of contraception they can use. Mind your own business. So you're saying bein pregnant is the same as having a virus? That doesn't make sense if people don't wanna get pregnant then they, a. Not have sex, or b. buy condoms, and I never said anything about check ups

While I agree with your larger point, Brizz, I have to say that employers pay the lion's share of insurance premiums in most cases.roy o'bengal wrote:
I didn't where do you see Burger King more once and it sounds like you have nothing to say, medical is something you need birth control is something you want there is a difference
You repeated the bit about "y should they have to pay for people to have sex" in three separate comments. I've explained why. The employee is paying for their medical care. Contraception is absolutely medical; it's preventative. Are vaccines medical? Are check ups medical?

Birth control is far cheaper than a child. Surely someone with two kids knows this.Yea meds are not cheap next you'll be asking for hair care products where does it stop?

I'm not a big supporter of Obama care, but it seems like hobby lobby is hiding behind religion. What Brizz says is true ,males can even get penis pumps from Uncle Sam. Roy by your example ,we can always say if they don't like the law move out the country or vote some one in they like. I think less Americans would be in support of Hobby Lobby if the owners were Muslim. Freedom of religion does not mean you can impose your religious views on others. When your religious belief affect some one else directly , there's a problem. Now the tax payers will have to foot the bill for hobby lobby.

Realistically, who do you foresee footing the majority of the care for the unwanted child of an hourly retail employee?

The two people that had them, is that a trick question

Yes there you go you got it now, if their the ones having the sex, which is a choice that made themselves it's on them

Nope, just asking if your children cost more than $20 a month. That's all.The two people that had them, is that a trick question

And you see that as something realistic that people are going to do? Abstain from sex? Well, have fun. I foresee this little precidence setting shit storm as creating a lot of new lives that we will be paying for. But hell, if you'd rather pay for government assistance for all those mouths than support a woman's right to affordable control of her own body, then good for you 👍

I now regret creating this thread. It turned into what I thought it would become. A hate Roy thread. And if I must say, he kinda deserves it

I should not comment. I should not comment. Fuck it. You do realize that Hobby Lobby's insurance still pays for 22 different contraceptives. They had a moral and religion objection to 4 of them. There is no "war on women". Waiting for a few more comments to explain why. They decided that they wouldn't foot the bill for an $8 over the counter abortion pill. I don't see the problem with it.

I also believe that the government has no business pushing for-profit health insurance on the business owner.
But then I believe in single payer - which eliminates for-profit healthcare (which has resulted in severely stunted healthcare vs the rest of the 1st world) and provides equal care to all. Single payers in the business or results rather than dolla dolla bills. That of which you can see across the world with lower costs and higher success rates. 👍
Btw, fuck SCOTUS. Incompetent, bought and paid for, kings of our country.
