F*** Gas Day! 🙎
Forums › General Discussion › F*** Gas Day! 🙎-
First off let me make sure to say this isn't in reference to any person. This is something I've said privately for a long time now. Now with that said…
FUCK GAS DAY!!! (sorry for the profanity nick)
Gas Day is complete BS made up by large players as an excuse to be able to capture and pick on smaller players without "hurting their rep" or looking like a dick. If you are going to cap turfs from friends and enemies and smaller players, do it anytime, and not just hide behind a fake ass "holiday".
Why is Gas Day bullshit?
1) Gas Day was created by big players. This is not a holiday celebrated by smaller players. Small players hate and dread this day because they get picked on and can't defend themselves. Big players created it to have a reason to do what they want to do all the time but are afraid to do normally cause they'll look bad picking on small players and hurt friendships.
-
2) The "rule" in place that's says, "no whining or bitching". This rule is so that big players can ease their conscious and don't have to listen to people complain about getting raped for turfs and knocked around.
3) If Gas Day was truly a "holiday" celebrating a player, it should be opt-in. Only players who want to be involved would be targeted and attacked. Not like currently where a player has no choice and even if they have no idea who gasface is they have to sit there and watch other people attack them for no reason. People who play this game and don't attack other players or capture turfs obviously don't celebrate gas day (I've never capped a single turf on gas day), but they get picked on nonetheless.
So if you're going to attack or capture turfs, do it normally and don't hide behind some bullshit day. Ive always hated Gas Day because of this, and I will never participate.

Agree

Never cared as I'm in uk but I agree with all that you said
-
I hav never wrote in yur thread but I agree wit yu. I'm getting cap from BunnyMcD n Humerbolt 10k members. I'm jus 2k.
What can I do tu protect myself? Sell turfs? Lower my inf more?
Dis is BULL SHIT. Big players use this "GAS DAY" for their benefit.
-
Just different styles of play Jmanx. Not disagreeing with what u said but as long as u are the one who gets capped. It will always be wrong. I've only met a handful of players who have accepted with reacted well(actives) when capped. If you think it's an excuse, so be it. But frankly saying that it's the only excuse for a clear conscience I'd differ. So should there be a celebration &/or break on 4th of July or is it an excuse for a holiday for ppl?
-
J, I think that you're somewhat correct. Gas day does give us an excuse to run rampant.
All other days I play nice and help the little guy. Hell I'm even giving the guys I'm capping advice while I'm capping them.
These days allow us to be evil with as little guilt as possible.
I had a lot of fun as a Noob on my first gas day
-
I agree & disagree. I gained a new capo & probably an enemy for life, but it's not my fault that this level 72 w/ a higher influence than I have only has a 2500 mob.
-
I do a lot of helping too. I don't see anything wrong with taking a little every now and then.
And after the last gas day, I sold all my weapons and gave away nearly 300 turf.
And personally, I'd much rather lose a ton of turf all in one shot than be picked off day after after ad nauseum.
-
I also try no to get carried away. Many players, I've only taken one or two. And i know how fast that can add up when several players are hitting you.
-
Bellas just lucky I'm nowhere near her turfs. She'd feel some old man wrath. 47 year old 👀. 😜
-
I agree with JmanX
-
I agree this is complete BS, you just have to weather the storm. As long as the fun is spread evenly, the balance in TW is respected. It's not what I'm seeing though. I'm curious JmanX, what % of your turf did you loose so far? I lost almost half and gain back 15%.
-
I agree... By da way how u guys get soo much mobs???
-
Waaaaaa! 😭😭😭😭😿😿😿
-
I'd like to see the smaller players get together, get involved, get organized, be resourceful and start some vendettas.

Amen jmanx. I've always thought it really stupid that people think you have to play "nice". I mean really, what is there that's nice about a pair of concrete shoes or a car bomb?
-
I disagree with everything you said jman. I've dedicated my career to helping smaller players at every oppertunity. And until now I've never fully participated in a gasday. So am I supposed to sit back amd do nothing forever? Plus I feel gaday is something unique in this game. No other mmo does Amy holliday for it's legends. This is something special to tw. We don't forget the greats before us here

風@ 火貌: Maybe I made it sound this way but I have no problem with capturing turfs or attacking in general. Its part of the game, and sometimes capping or attacking gives a player motivation to mob up. I just think that using a special day that's arbitrarily decided on as a day to have an guilt-free rampage is ridiculous.
@ zraygo & Charlie: I think thanlt everyone knows your characters are above reproach and would never hurt a player or take more than they could bear. And you both are great players at helping out smaller players. But even if you take just 1 or 2 from these players, so is everyone else cause it's all on the same day that everyone is going after these small players.
@ Bella: I agree that there are plenty of players who are big enough (inf. wise) or have been around forever and are still small mobbed have no excuse and capping from them won't really hurt them. Just like me, I've lost a couple turfs and it won't even scratch my income or cause me problems.
-
@ everyone: What I'm mostly saying is that if you want to cap and attack, do it any day, as a regular thing. Don't use Gas Day as an excuse to do what you wouldn't normally do is what I'm saying. Or if you really want to make a reason to fight, make it an opt-in "holiday" where any player who wants in can join and have it be a "War Day" between them. That way small players or people who dont want to be involved aren't and everyone is happy.
-
Just another facet of the game. Keeps it interesting but I get what you're saying.
-
An opt in war day sounds lame amd boring.
-
I actually surprisingly disagree. I have been a small mob player on turfwars till Mayer a month ago. I enjoyed gas day as a small player and capped a turf or two. Getting capped made me want to mob up so I can defend myself and cap back. I believe that gas day honors past players and is a day of motivation. It's like a wake up call telling you that you need to mob up. There are some players I use to be able to cap from on gas days, now they are higher mobbed then me. You can't say this day is an excuse, most of us give advice to noobs so they are prepared for the next one. I mean it's just one day. If there wasn't gas days I'd probably be tempted to wipe out a lot of turfs, being honest here. Anyways that's what i got to say.
-
We need a day to remember the greats in this game!
-
@ Belial: I know that the fact that you've shown so much restraint when it comes to gas days shows how great a player you are. You have the power to destroy everyone and you don't. I think that you should be allowed to attack and capture turfs. But do it any day, if you feel like taking a turf or two go for it. You don't have to wait for a special day to do it.
Like I just mentioned, if you want a day to "honor" gasface, then make it an opt-in war day where people who want in can get in and have a big battle with those players. Then people get a chance to fight but no one who doesn't want to gets involved and newer/small players aren't picked on.
-
In Houston we have a safe zone where no attacking or capping of turf is allowed, except on gas day. (Keep in mind Houston is quite large & the safe zone is only a small section of it.) I've found a lot of the smaller players (not noobs whose influence is too low to cap anyway) enjoy it. There is also some fear, knowing they will lose turf, but they take turf too. I was actually quite impressed with 4 players that got together & created a v, against 3 of us larger players, for defense. They didn't have quite the coordination to keep from losing turf, but I think it is an excellent learning experience.

I also try to help the smaller players, rather than cap them on the days that aren't gas days. So I do enjoy gas days where I feel free to cap. I still limit myself on the amount of capping I do & I told 1 small player yesterday to put his UB away. Like Windfire said, it is just different styles of playing. The first gas day I was here for, I was worried, the second gas day I absolutely dreaded, the third I discovered it was fun, & this one I am totally enjoying.

Think of it like a test versus a pop quiz. I always preferred tests because I knew when they were coming & studied hard ahead of time. I despised pop quizzes & never felt prepared.
