Just a little update.

I see some new faces in the game. Some I miss, some I don't.
First, I wanted to thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I would say we (my family and brothers and sisters) are doing okay but honestly, I don't know what "okay" is. We are having to create our new normal.
Secondly, I just received my mother's toxicology report yesterday from the police. The man that killed my mother had a blood alcohol content of .241 which is over 3 times the legal limit.
So please know that I have not chosen to be distant. I have had a lot on my plate and more to take on than I could have ever imagined. The hits keep coming day after day.
So if any of you drink and drive, or plan on it....please don't. It can have a lasting effect that will not ever go away.

Mason I kno how you feel I've lived with the fallout of a drunk driver for 45 years being the only survivor of one , so my prayers go out to you and your family 🙏

Hey Mason. Long time. I am so sorry for your loss and I couldn't agree with you more. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I guess for me, don't assume that the people you love and care about will be here tomorrow. Take a little time to mend old issues or make those phone calls just to say hello.
I can still remember the last call I made to my mom. We had called her to tell her that my boy had lost his first tooth. The next thing I know, 2 days later I got the phone call from my sister telling me she is gone.
So please, be sure to take the time to tell the ones you love what they mean to you. You never know if you will get another chance.

I know what your going through. My cousin was killed when his friend was drinking at the wheel. They hit a lamp post and he was ejected.my prayers go out to you and your family.

Mason - it's good to see your post. I really miss you, my friend. My heart aches for you and your family.
And as someone who has also lost a parent, I can just say that you're very right about reaching out to ppl. I will take your words to heart and make a few calls I've been putting off this week. Thank you for this...

Every since I was 9 or 10 years old, I was groomed to take care of my family (+brothers and sisters) in case I were to lose a parent. I never dreamed that it would actually happen. Fortunately unfortunately, my brothers and sisters were not raised like I was because I am the oldest. I have had to truly step up in every way, from financially to medical to legal. It's been tough.
