What a phenomenal player. A few stats. The last one is insane.
19 consecutive .300 seasons are second to only Ty Cobb, who had 23.
From 1995, the year he turned 35, to 2001, the final year of his career, Gwynn hit .350
434 career strikeouts are an amazing mark for a player who had 10,232 career plate appearances. • In 1995, Gwynn struck out only 15 times in 535 at-bats.
For his career batting average to slip below .300 he would have needed to add 1,183 hitless at-bats to his total — roughly the equivalent of two full seasons

Hmmmmm now's probably a good time to dump my 248 rookie cards onto the market. Gotta love. The soul glow hair he was sporting back then.

It always makes me sad when amazing athletes pass away from something that could have been prevented like chewing tobacco.

His stats are amazing, but he was known for being the kindest, most humble player out there. He will be missed on many levels. Loved watching him when I was growing up.

Class act 👍

He was a great player. He died much too young.
I recently saw his son play a triple AAA game. He's good but not like his Dad! -
I'm glad I quit dippin

His son is playing in the majors now for the Philadelphia Phillies. Unfortunatly they do resemble a AAA team. 😭
