Population control
Forums › General Discussion › Population control-
So I finished Inferno by Dan Brown. The book brought up some very interesting thoughts about population control. If you had a child today, in their lifetime they would see the worlds population double 3 times. By the end of their life there will be about 56 billion people on the earth. The earth can't sustain that amount of growth. So, what do we do?

Build a space ship and colonize.

You're looking at a minimum of 100 years to do that. Some believe we won't last that long.

Pull out

-We could let the cereal killers out of prison to help with population control.
-We could hand out more guns.
-We could close all Walmarts and cause 1/2 the population to start a riot because they have no place to shop.
-We could start WW3.
That's just a couple ideas to help with controlling the population. -

Do what they are doing.
1 chlorine in water increases cancer
2 take over all pharmaceutical company's and give us shit drugs that make us iller
3 put shit in out food that will bring on cancer.
4 cause war at the drop of a hat
5 or do what Grime does and become a Wanker -

Allow abortion up until age 12. Gives you time to figure out if the kid's gonna be annoying, ugly, or inconvenient.

No matter how we treat our environment, we can only sustain so many people.

Think of algae on a pond. If left unchecked, the algae will cover the entire pond. Once it does, it chokes off light to the plants. As they die, so does the algae. Go look at studies about population an the plague. Some people think it would have added about 3 billion more people to the current population if it hadn't happened. Even Darwin admitted that nature will find a way to cull the population. That's part of his survival of the fittest theory.

Well interestingly enough the majority of the first world counties have seen populations stay flat or slightly decline for some time. It's the third world countries like China and India that have absolutely exploded and are now overflowing with people. I think though one major outbreak of an antibiotic resistant disease in several of these third world countries will temporarily fix the problem.

Just allow me one night of killing and the problem will be handled.

A local study showed that all 6 or 7 billion people could fit in Luzerne county pa back to back each having 4 square feet to themselves. So that means tere is plenty of room on this planet for people. We just need to stop all this damn fighting

What happens in 100 years when the population closes in on 100 billion? The thought is that population grows faster than our ability to provide.

Look up Malthusianism, the problem of population will fix itself when it collapses from too much population and too much food demand when there isn't enough food to provide everyone anymore
-
Most likely, War, Famine, Disease, will keep the population to where we can still provide enough for everyone. It's where we don't fight, don't starve, and die from crazy diseases, is when I'll be scared for the future. Most likely we will get to point where we have enough food, stay healthy, and don't fight, until we meet our population limit, and then war, famine, disease will drop us back under. Hopefully the diseases, or wars, or the starving don't wipe our species off the planet.
