I'm looking to do a 100-200mi hop in the near future and am looking for someone to come with and keep up motivation. Initially, I want to go from Frankfurt to Italy, then France then possibly more around the world.

The idea is to set smaller goals if you aren't a fan of hopping. Set a daily goal and hit it. More satisfying than looking at the whole hop

Dont want to correct you, but its about 400 miles from Frankfurt to Italy.
Better fly to Munich and hop from there, that should be a better goal to reach.

Tracking. The intent is definitely to break it down into managable chunks each day or whatever. I assume the whole trip will take several weeks/months. No rush since we're all busy with work/family/life.
I'm more interested in the way there than actually getting to Italy or whatever the final destination is.
