The GOP is tone deaf, beating this dead horse again and again hoping it will spring back to life. The average voter's eyes glaze over when they hear the word "Benghazi". I consider myself to be a pretty smart guy and I honestly cannot see where the scandal is. We're at war. There is a fog of war. Sometimes we are not prepared and situations in remote areas evolve faster than we can react, events get politicized, good people die for no good reason. Jesus, you'd think we'd be used to this shit after 12+ years of it.
RIP Pat Tillman

Fnord:
Why wasn't the response team in tripoli sent when Benghazi asked? It was a 10 hour firefight. Why were air assets not dispatched? Why disregard the reports of accurate mortor fire? What was going on at the White House and state department while our men were being killed? I don't think wanting these answers are "beating a dead horse". I understand protecting the administration from blatant failure, but we still deserve the answers. To the families of those men, I'm sure at this point it WOULD matter. -
Where did your comment go Fnord?

What air assets would have been useful in this situation? Gunships and fighter jets strafing neighborhoods? That's brilliant lol. This isn't Call of Duty, it's real life.
-
As someone previously pointed out, where was the republican outrage during the bush administration? There were about a dozen incidents at embassies where 60 people were killed. Didn't hear a peep. I'm no expert on Benghazi, I wasn't there when this happened. But this is just politics, pure and simple.

Predator drones? Our president loves to use them for "pinpoint accuracy" as he says.

You do realize that Stevens had been requesting additional security since March of that year right? There were 4 acts of terrorism between March and September. Explosive devise thrown at convoy on April 10th. IED exploded outside the consulate compound on June 6th. RPG hit a British convoy carrying their ambassador on June 11th. (Brits recalled their ambassador). May 22nd an RPG hit the Red Cross compound.

They did occur. Look them up. And they should have all been questioned. Not just the one that happened in the current administration.📍INFLUX📍 wrote:

That's not counting the terror plot thwarted in December 2011. Stevens requested additional security in March, July, August and September. All requests were turned down. On august 2nd, he sent a cable to the state department calling security conditions "unpredictable, volatile and violent". What was the response to all this? In august the state department removed the last of the three 6-man security teams and a 16-man team from Libya.
-
Now, none of 👆 needs to be answered? Nobody needs to be held accountable? Wtf were they doing? What did they see that made them disregard the request for more security? Why would you do that? And the left thinks it's no big deal. WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE!?

Well great then! Go ahead and release all the emails as well. Don't wait till a judge in a lawsuit orders you to release them if you have nothing to hide.

Who do you think is ultimately responsible for the 4 dead at Benghazi?

Only one of the above links worked. But the one I read makes my case better than I do. Appreciate it!
As for who is responsible for the 4 deaths? The Obama administration. They denied increased security when it was repeatedly requested. For months Stevens had been asking. He had told them how the situation on the ground was. Since the state department is responsible for security, I'd blame the state department. Pretty clear cut. I just want to know WHY they allowed the situation to get to that point. Can't blame Bush for that. (I'm sure you will though) -
Hell, instead of increased security, they pulled it out of the damn county! Why? Show us the emails that lead to that decision. Show us what you knew and when you knew it. At least do it in the name of "transparency".

Wrong answer. Very telling, but still wrong. You know who is ultimately responsible for murder? THE MURDERERS! Damn.

Wrong it is the Administration's Fault. We know for over 300 years that Libya is not and will never be an ally and that we should not have gotten involved with THEIR civil war!ᎷᎪᏟᏦᎷᎬᏟᎻ ᎪᎠᎠ ᏦᎷ wrote:

You're so right Fnord. There's no need for security at all anywhere. We can just blame the terrorists after they act. We have no responsibility to provide security to our diplomats. Just one of the job hazards huh? It's funny to hear a liberal try to defend this administration in this. Does it not piss you off to know the man was BEGGING for additional security for 6 months before the attack!!?!!?! You're fine with that??? And the people who are trying to find the answers are just "beating a dead horse"? Wow. That probably sums it up best. Wow
