Any Geocachers who play TW?
Forums › General Discussion › Any Geocachers who play TW?-
Just curious. Ipodguy is my geocaching handle too. I've been at it for around 5 years and have a little over 1400 finds.
Geocaching and TW work great together. Just wondering if there are more cachers out there.

I did it for a month or two. Hated it. My first find was an active hornet's nest in a box. My second was under a bench in a cemetery that was home to two feral cats and a rabid raccoon.
-
My family used to do it when we went hiking. We haven't done it in a few years. Our worst find was in a rotten log that happened to be infested with ticks.
-
My wife just started with our son last week fun family think I don't know much but she's on super easy mode found 4 so far like I said just started a couple days ago
-
So far no horror stories like the people above :(

I'm an active cacher. Great family fun. 👍

The Wife and I cashed from time to time. Gets us out of the house and is cheap entertainment.

I used to all the time. Getting old has switched me to hunting munzee now.
-
Used to cache a lot --good tool to keep the kids moving along the trail. What's the best iPhone app?
-
What is it ?
-
AVZ- it's a game where you use satellites to find hidden containers all over the world.
Ang- best iPhone app is the one made by Groundspeak. $9.99 on the App Store. Also a free version, but very limited. Beats the $300 gps's we used to need to play the game.
Everyone else - glad to hear there are some cachers among TW players.

I've been looking into the "Munzee" since you posted this. I had never heard of it until now. But am digging it so far!! Thanks for the intel!!👍I used to all the time. Getting old has switched me to hunting munzee now.

I haven't gotten into munzee, but I've run across lots of them. Maybe hope I don't play. I've got some really really evil munzee hiding spots

I used to cache regularly. Had a few thousand urban micros, a couple hundred trail micros, and a few really interesting multi-stages. Also took place in a few cito (cache in, trash out) events. Sadly, my job doesn't allow me much time to cache anymore

Occasional but love it then I do..

What is this caching

Menice- geocaching is a game where you use a GPS to locate hidden containers all over the world

I think any cacher can hide one. All you would have to do is go online and post the coordinates for other people to see. You input the coordinates into your GPS and go to it. They are containers such as ammo boxes or small film canisters. Some ammo boxes contain small trinkets such as key rings or a pair of dice. Just random things. My stepdad always told us if we took something out of the box we had to replace it with something else. Sometimes there was a notepad in them that you could sign and leave a note. I think my stepdad told me about some item that had some code on it or something that, if found, cachers could put that code in on some website to see where the item had been. Caches are every where. There are some out in the middle of our local reservoir tied to stumps. We've hiked to many along the Pearl river. It's a fun thing to do.

Trailer trash is correct.
Some are easy like in a park, some are difficult like rappelling off a cliff and everything in between. -

Random items, risky situations, craziness, lots of driving and hiking your nuts off. Yes, that's a pretty good description of geocaching smuve.
