Job 42:12 seems to disagree with you. That's when it described. the birth of Job's new children and his daughters who were so much prettier than his previous ones.

Lol gun street girl I like how you use the term "you people" when in reality you have no idea how I feel about religion or the bible you only know the little bit that you may have possibly read about me =P same thing I had stated befre, people want to throw Christians into 1 category when that's not the case at all haha.

Atheists do not require faith to not believe in something that both has no evidence, and is the most outrageous extraordinary claim ever made.
It is contrary to the scientific method to call something fact without evidence and without even the slightest bit of plausibility.
Atheist : Without theism. It is a lack of faith that defines them.
Agnostic : Without knowledge. Atheists are also agnostics. They have no knowledge of the existence of God. Or FSM. Or Santa Claus.

Well brizz that's because people like myself have sat down and read the bible a single time and don't usually quote it because A) I don't base my beliefs around the bible, and B) even if I wanted to I'm aware that it's a flawed book and so I don't bother within or details. It's full of parables and stories and you never know which is which. Rules pertaining to only certain individuals while others don't have to follow the same rules. Do I feel there is some truth in there? Absolutely. Just like how I've read the Book of Mormon and even though I'm not Mormon I still revere it as a religious book because I did find that there was some religious truth in it. My religion is neither church based nor based on a book. It's based on what I've learned and how I feel about the god I choose to worship.
-
Brizz the idea is I believe in the Christian god. However, I acknowledge the bible is a man made book. It's flawed so I never take what is in the bible to be 100% fact. I read the bible, I say my prayers, and I ponder over certain issues and come to my own conclusion. The same thing every Christian church in the history of man kind has done. The bible is interpreted all kinda of ways. As far as homosexuality goes though I never use my religion as my argument. I use it as my moral compass but that's never my argument because it holds no merit to most other people so there's no point. What I'm saying is I read up on religion and drew conclusions about my Christian god. It's what I got from what I've learned. Not that I've made up my own god. Personally I feel religion is supposed to be a personal relationship, one of the things the bible dis agrees with me on. I don'thave to attend church when I can pray to god in my own home.
-
No 2 people are the same so why would everyone be expected to hold the same uniform relationship with god. He made us all different and speaking from experience I get a lot more joy out of a personal relationship than when I was going to church every Sunday. In church the message is always skewed by personal bias about a book written by an imperfect creature and revised many times over by other humans. Basically you go to church if you want to form an identical relationship with god as the pastor. It just doesn't seem right to me. It's like expecting you and your siblings to have the exact same relationship with your parents as you do.
-
Darkmagician, I suggest you read the Hindu Vedas and Upinshads, come to your own conclusions, and develop a person relationship with one or more of the "true" Hindu gods.
The fact that you happen to find the Christian bible first doesn't make it the one true religion. There are literally thousands of others out there, some extinct, some old, and some new.
I respect your opinions, but I would take a broader view than just your local culture when it comes to universal deities.
-
Right. The single biggest factor determining your religious affiliation is where you were born.
-
Right. ...Even if you want to stick with the invisible magic space aliens, there are plenty of others that should be evaluated carefully before committing your life to worshipping what could be a false God.
-
But people usually don't commit their life to worshipping a deity. Most maybe go to church a couple times a year or slap a fish on their car. It's not like its a huge commitment.

You have God and no God.
Atheist have faith in their reasoning. They merely reason based upon the assumption that their reasoning is valid about the "scientific method".
Atheism makes a hypothesis that they themselves can not be consistent about. It is absurd to make absolute truth statements since you dont have knowledge of all things trancensent or not.

Phew. That's a relief. As long as you ate ham afterwards. You did eat ham afterwards, right?

Look out! It's a pre-suppositionalist science debate!
-
The scientific method (no quotes) is valid enough to provide that idevice you're typing on. God didn't make that. Truth enough for me.
-
Well seeing as how I'm only referring to my own truth I suppose from self satisfaction (I only say that because I don't know what else to call it). My truth is what I've been told and what I feel is right/wrong. Not to say that mine is right, but I can say that I lead a happy life now that I've discovered my own truth rather than being force fed what they teach in church. I believe there is a god and whether mine is right or not I also believe that god is forgiving and loving. Mainly what I mean is that I may not be praying to the proper god or calling him/her by the right name. I may not follow all of the proper ways to worship but fact is that I can study religion my whole life and never truly know which god is mostly likely to be the right god. Seeing as how we're imperfect and have no true way of knowing which god/practice is the right one I hope that my praise will be accepted. As long as I praise god and try to live by what I know to be right then I don't see how a loving god could hold it against me.

The scientific method isn't perfect though. For instance we did an experiment with copper. In the end we were supposed to get a purebred powder(which was the copper wire after we were done with it). When it was all said and done though the entire class had an average 478.43% yield. Which as I'm sure everyone here knows is impossible. 5 different groups started with the exact same amount of a substance and all got roughly the same results. Brw for anyone who cares enough I told my chemistry teacher that I was going to create copper with my magical powers and from that day on my class mates call me copper man hahaThe scientific method (no quotes) is valid enough to provide that idevice you're typing on. God didn't make that. Truth enough for me.
