Nick, I think spending the money for a commercial would be well worth it. This would draw in a massive amount of new users. Look at what it did for Clash of Clans.

not sure why people would want the games not to talk to each other and be seperate. on most games these days it's the opposite, people bitch about NOT being able to play with others on different systems. crossplatform gaming where things are going and needs to be. why take a step backwards?

Some great questions so far! Here's a quick rundown of the most popular questions:
- Fonts: Android doesn't support some characters (especially some kinds of Emoji). Android users will seem either question marks or blank spaces instead of these characters. This shouldn't be a big gameplay issue, though if there are any issues regarding tapping on turf etc we will make every effort to make it work for everyone.
- Cheats: A rooted Android device has roughly the same capabilities as a jailbroken iOS device, and we will be on the lookout for players faking their location, running automated scripts, and other cheats as we do on iOS. Also, all critical gameplay calculations for stats, including Energy/Health/Stamina/Cash, fights, missions, protection, etc are handled on the servers. The Android version will use the same server API as the iOS version, and won't have any additional access that could be exploited. -
- Geocoding: Android ships with its own geocoder, which Turf Wars will use. It should be similar (though not identical) to the optional Google Geocoder that iOS Turf Wars uses.
- Existing Accounts: once the Android version is released you'll be able to login to your existing account on it and play normally.
- Release Date: Barring any unforeseen delays, the Android version should be available in late April - early May.
- Beta testing: all info on the beta test will be provided through the Google Group (https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/turf-wars-android-beta ) for the beta. We will begin reviewing applications this weekend, and if you applied you'll get a response early next week or sooner. -
