I was deeply saddened to hear about this my friend. It is never easy losing a loved one or a parent but to lose them so suddenly and to such senseless selfish act of a drunk driver is very difficult to accept or understand. I grieve for you and your family may god be with you in these most trying of times. My prayers and heart felt thoughts go out to you.

Thank you everyone.
At the moment, I am still trying to take it all in. My emotions come in waves. I have feelings of sadness, anger, confusion, frustration, and then feelings that I know I wouldn't have if I were not going through this such as, I am finding some comfort in the fact that my mom passed instantly while he survived for just a short while. My hope is that he was conscious and awake in his last moments on earth and to be honest, it's best for him that he didn't survive.
One of the hardest things came yesterday when we had to explain to my 6 year old the gravity of what happened and that his Mimi is gone.

If I don't respond or seem distant, please know that it is not because I don't care. I have a lot of people hurting here that need me. I have not truly grieved yet, because I need to be strong for them.
At the moment, my family is trying to avoid the media and the flood of lawyers beating down our door.
Thank you again for your thoughts and prayers and I will do my best to keep in touch.
