My Retirement

Good luck out there JD. If this winter ever ends, I'll be pulling my mountain bike out of my garage and take to the nature trails. I got out of it several years ago but have been seriously considering riding again. Enjoy your leave, and I hope to see you post occasionally about your riding endeavors.

Good luck on the double century. I did one when I was back in high school. It took about 16 hours with breaks and everything. It was a lot of fun and not many people attempt one.
-
And if you're interested check out experience plus.com. I've had the pleasure of riding with them a couple of times. One time across Italy and the second through the Italian Alps. Both trips were fantastic!

Ride on. Don't forget to do the "map my ride" so we can see the effort.

Shut up Grimm!! You shoul ALWAYS add A1!!I thoroughly enjoyed your threads about airport closures they were interesting and informative.
I dabble with bicycling. Nothing on your level but I know the love of riding. Take care of yourself.
Oh and a properly cooked and seasoned steak should never need A1 sauce 😆👍👍Great time together Jim! Thanks for letting me help with the airport, that was a blast! I'm glad you're not resetting. Good luck on your RL goals and I hope to see ya around here again....

Happened to open the forums today and was surprised to see you're leaving. You brought a lot of excitement to this game for me (and a lot of my friends) back in the day. Many guys at my work still talk about when you made your way down to Modesto. Good luck in life and thanks for the good times.
Hey there! I first met you when I took a turf from you that had special significance to you. After I found out about it's meaning to you, I made arrangements to give it back to you. My question for you is: "is the title of that turf still true?" I hope and pray that it is.

Jim, it will be sad to see you go but like so many others who have needed to leave, you will be missed! Take care and be safe out there. People don't look for motorcycles let alone bicycles. 🚲

I'll try and do that, Mystery. It has been a pleasure getting to know you. I admire your devotion to the game and your devotion to helping the newcomers out.I object to anymore vets leaving. I do not accept your letter of retirement. Take an extra long break & enjoy reaching your cycling goals. Check in & tell us about them. Then, when you are "too old" (your words) to do anymore challenges, you can play more often again. See, it's the best of both worlds.

Good luck JD!!! As a former rider (over 10 years of my adult life and 100,000 miles) I know the love for the road is an addictive one. I rode with some "ultra marathoners" as they were called they rode from Portland Oregon to Los Angeles on the weekend to prepare for the R.A.A.M good luck with your goals!

I saw you connected on strava. Welcome! I also couldn't help but notice that you haven't been on your bike in a while. Don't make me ride over there with my AR-15... :)🚲 See you on Strava ! 🚲

Portland to LA huh? That would take me a weekend plus the rest of the week!
How many bikes did you go through during your 100k miles? I'm on my third bike and I have got less than 7k miles behind me so far.

Good luck Jd. I also love biking a lot. Growing up I would bike, hike and swim all summer. I do the odd biking now, but I prefer doing it out in the country where it's nice and quite. I can't wait till this dam snow goes away so I can get back in my bike.
Have fun achieving your goals and good luck to not getting hurt 😜. -
