What do you vets do when it comes time to renew your protection? Do you buy the police off, or use a consigliere, or use don points? Or do you switch it up and do it randomly? And how does this effect your loot ratio? And or good loot ratio?

I use a consigliere. I will use don point if I run out of consiglieres.

This. 👆 After two+ years, I don't worry so much about 'what ifs' on loot ratios any more.

Same here. I think I'd cry if I had to use in-game money & do each city separately. I have no idea if there's a difference in amount or quality of loot received. I doubt it.

I used to use consigerellis all the time, I would loot them faster than I could use them, at one point I had 150 of them, I ended up selling all but 50 or so and haven't looted one since. That must have been 6 months ago or so. I think they have became less common.

I have stopped paying protection with don points. I make enough money without it, get through enough missions that it really isn't worth. Wasting the points.
