Join my palringo room [hvpbushfires] if you want to see a few photos I've taken last night and today.

We currently have major Bushfires virtually every direction you look: 99% of which have been deliberately lit. Most towns are isolated from one another, and even the main highway from the state capital (Melbourne) has been road blocked by police for a couple of days now. Families are staying wherever they were when the fires began, and basically everything is shit.

If by any chance a local who may know something about the arsons reads this, please, report it to your local police, or freecall crime stoppers on -
1800 333 000 to report suspicious behaviour. Car licence numbers, model, colour, description of drivers and passengers. The smallest details can help!

I've been fighting just one of the many large Bushfires burning in the region, the photos were taken in drink breaks and meal breaks (when they happened). Unfortunately, when the fire was at its most impressive (about 4:00-7:00pm last night), there was absolutely no time for breaks of any kind. It was go go go! But I've gotten plenty of decent photos as we got the fire under control, definitely worth the look IMO 😏
I'm only going to be online for about half an hour. Then it's time to wash the ash outta my eyes and the soot from my face and GO SLEEP! It's been a long enough day ✌️

I know what you mean about not getting the best pictures. I used to be a hotshot for the US Forrest Service & any time it was really good there wasn't time to pull the camera out. At least I have my memories. Stay safe & sleep every chance you get.

Today, whilst videoing a large grader towing a bulldozer from a patch of swampland, my phone ran out of memory. Bugger! I'll have to make some more space to fit more pics and clips!

I'll upload a few photos now, but I have the father in law coming around shortly to help me move more furniture (Mrs Turfa and I are half way through shifting to a new house) ... Then it's bed time before getting back into fire work early in the morning. Cheers guys!
