It's awful. By debating the nonsense spewing from that zealot's pie hole Mr. Nye has unintentionally legitimized the know nothing's assertions as an actual argument.

Diplomacy isn't only for statesmen. It doesn't matter if he convinces the zealot. What matters is the people that watch it will learn something. Even if only one person embraces the idea that science can go hand in hand with Christianity, then he's done his job.

I don't understand why the concept seems so foreign to some people. Close minded doesn't really cover it.

Diplomacy us fine, in fact, I prefer it. I just don't see the point in engaging with crazy.
Btw, this isn't about religion coexisting with science. It's about religion DENYING science. Real trees older than the fictional earth and whatnot.

It's only a small percentage of Christians denying scientific evidence. Most Christians are not as close minded as those crazy zealots who claim a young creation.
