Issue 14 Update.
It is with great pleasure that the TTnews team presents issue 14 of the Turf Tales News. As you will notice the heavy lifters in putting this issue together is long time writer Mrs VWtech, occasional writer Cracka, and new comer Miss Cris.
-
Since our September launch of Issue 1, I have seen a lot of ups and downs. Staff have come and gone, but overall I am pleased with what we have been able to produce and the support that the community has given us. As we move forward into 2014, I anticipate a passing of the torch as I begin to play a diminished role as the primary writer. Miss Cris and Mrs VW have agreed to step up to the plate as our primary writers, with Chucky, Brizz, Cracka and myself continuing to contribute on an ad hoc basis. While I will continue my role as the coordinator and editor of the news, I respectfully ask that the community treat our writing staff with the same openness and cooperation that has been generously provided to me.
On a final note - as has always been the case - anyone interested is welcome to write for the news. Contact me directly if interested.

Inside NWR
It seems not so long ago that CDog posted message in the general forum announcing the formation of a new alliance, NWR. Over the following months and years NWR would grow and develop full fledged fighting alliance. Miss Cris and FAL of TTnews caught up with Sourd, one of NWRs leaders to discuss:
MC: What does NWR stand for?
Sourd: New World Renegades formerly known as North West Renegades.MC: When did NWR start?
Sourd: July 2012MC: How did NWR start?
Sourd: C-Dog our founding father had an idea and rolled with it.MC: Where is NWR mainly located?
Sourd: World wide😉 -
FAL: Does NWR have an underlying philosophy you would like to share?
Sourd: New World Renegades fight the good fights, goes after bullies and protects there own . We believe in helping respectful players when need be . We hop places to eliminate the terrorist who don't play nice! Being respectful in the TW community is very important.FAL: Does the former founder, CDog, still play?
Sourd: It has been some time since I have heard or seen him around? Not really he still pops in now and then to visit n check things out.MC: What is the most intense war NWR has encountered?
Sourd: LAMC: Who are NWR's allies?
Sourd: Each of us bring to the table a variety of allies and friends.MC: any long standing enemies?
Sourd: Pasta Kid -
MC: How did the relationship with BAIC start?
Sourd: We worked with many crews for the Portland battle but BAIC and WSS supported our efforts to regain our territories.MC: Would it be fair to say that NWR & BAIC are a package deal?
Sourd: No that's not fair, both are unique and bring to the table a wide variety of skills. It's safe to say we work well together.FAL: how is NWRs leadership structured? Democratic or concentrated leadership? Any specific leaders you can mention?
Sourd: In the beginning it was military but as we grew and developed we basically work together as a family.MC: Who would you say is your most experienced fighter is? Sourd: Most experience fighter all of us are well seasoned. Can't just single out one member.
MC: Is NWR actively recruiting? Sourd: I will have to check with the HR department.
There you go Turfers, the inside scoop on NWR!

DBR reforms
We recently got a tip that DBR was being reformed. Cracka caught up with some of DBR's well-known members ,ℛìⓒɧìع ℛìⓒɧ,
oEXILEo, SOSA™ and The Ramb.
He was able to get some info about the old DBR in comparison to the new DBR, as well as how these three became members of DBR.Cracka: What does DBR stand for?
Exile: Death Before Reset
Cracka: How did DBR originate?
Richie: DBR was created in the UK in response to TWFC, who were an aggressive alliance that actively pursued mobs without compassion, causing a number of mobs to reset.
-
Cracka: What was DBR's main goal?
Exile: To stop the dominance and bullish methods employed by the TWFC.
Cracka: How many members where in DBR at its max?
Sosa: I joined after NEA merged with DBR and the room had 40 members in it, plus a few recent resets. So I'd guess high 40's maybe 50. A lot of name changers, so I can't recall the majority of peoples names.
TheRamb: When I joined DBR, there were I think about 7 of us. We were preparing the first offensive on TWFC before they knew of us.
Cracka: What caused DBR to stop being?
Richie: DBR never stopped being. It has always had members.
Cracka: Has DBR's original goals been completed?
-
Richie: Yes. TWFC no longer exists as a group, although many of the members are still actively playing TW, and the opening of airports means there is no longer a single aggressive force in the UK.
Cracka: DBR merged with FF and then merged with BORG. What happened after that?
Exile: Johnson Mob brought FF to us. Ex and Macas discussed a merger with BORG to keep what was left of DBR at the time together as part of a team as numbers were falling. Which in my eyes was a good move, as we were already partners. Shortly after, I left DBorg as the directions the group took was not in my best interest, so I linked up with Footsoldier and Bomp and their small FUA group to fight in the UK and Europe.
The New DBR!!
Cracka: How was the new DBR created? And how many members do you have now?
-
Exile: The new DBR was created by small conversations. First between me and Ronin sometime in November. So I slowly to keep and contact what players I could. Most were still FUA members anyway. Then there was a conversation between Footsoldier and Taz over the Christmas period. Footsoldier, Taz and I joined a room to sort out and discuss a plan of action, making amends for past history. The next step was to contact old DBR members. Big Cat was as easy as me, and footsoldier had just been together with him in a battle. I contacted kill n chill, bas and reaper. Set up a room just for the old DBR members to see if they were interested in a reform/rebuild for 2014. Taz contacted TheRamb and some ex firm/dborg. Now we are about 24 strong and still building.
Cracka: What is the new DBR's man goal?
-
Exile: The goal is to successfully form an elite fighting group that enemies fear once we arrive on their land. But, also to nurture new and upcoming players.
Cracka: So, how did these guys become members of DBR?
Sosa: There were about 8 of my friends from work playing this game for a year before I joined. They, as well as others formed the N.E.A alliance, who merged with DBR. When I started playing I had a foot in already. I was invited to the my rat is oot room by macas, a DBR chat room. I got to know most DBR players there. A few months in, capo and massholes started an offensive attack on Edinburgh. I had few run ins with certain members of twfc at the time so was thinking over formally joining DBR then macas asked in the room if any one here was willing to help DBR fight in Eddy. That was my push, I said yes, the only one to say yes every other neutral member in the room stayed silent lol.
-
That night I was 90 miles out of eddy. I hopped all the way there spread around the city. Then got a pm off Tajik Capone telling me to pull down all turf in the city and ap. I said no, he capped me out lol. I was still on the out skirts of the city. The next day I joined a v with Saba who's name at the time was Hubbard or summit like that then ranged a load of Tajik and other twfc players and went to sleep. Woke up the next day to 6000 hits -6 million an hour income, and it felt great! From then on I was hooked spent that day hopping to safety from twfc around the north of England then flew to Frankfurt and started to hop to Luxembourg a DBR strong hold. I was the only DBR member fighting in Eddy for nearly a week, then the rest arrived. That was my first large scale war zone..great times!..... 2 years 1 month on I'm still loving the game and back with old friends in DBR its excellent.
-
Exile: I was already in contact with a player called greenbean aka the fisherman through local play. Only been playing maybe six months and was hopping here, there and everywhere, ending up in Warrington. I spoke to the local players, la jacko and arch Stanton. Ater a few weeks, la jacko started capping me heavily. So, I contacted arch and greenbean. Arch was busy, but put the word out and fisherman got me to start a v. Silent Joe and one other DBR member joined and helped me out. The following few weeks, I helped out greenbeans and others the best I could, building and mobbing up the bes I could. After a mnth of helping, I was invited by greenbeans to join a pal room and become a member of DBR with my mate ramrod. That was three years ago. I've been involved with helping run and the boss of a different version of DBR on and off ever since. And I've seen a lot of great players come and go.
-
Richie: My personal little snippet is when my mob total was just me (day two on TW), I got invited to accept a mob called The Rhino (who became our original leader of DBR). To the current date, ironically, that is the only invite I have ever declined. He replied to my apologetic noobie reaction and personally mentored me from there under the DBR wings. We miss Rhino, lost him to a work promotion and a marriage, lol.

Rumor Mill:
News Room numbers hit new record: 225
The [Turf Tale News Room] hit a new record of 225 members early today as players continued to join what is now the community’s most active public palringo room. A series of events this week promoted the room’s numbers to swell, most notably, an increase in aggression by members of The Commission Alliance who have continued to trash talk their opposition on a nightly basis.
Pax-Nomad merger dissolves
The previously reported merger between the Pax and Nomad alliances has been dissolved. The two alliances have reverted back to two separate groups. It is reported that the break up was relatively peaceful.
-
Rome under siege
Rumor have been abuzz regarding a large scale fight taking place in Italy. The battle heated up following the opening of the Rome airport. While one group has hopped south to secure Sicily, others have been in close pursuit. Players are encouraged to take a look for themselves as the map paints an interesting picture.

Good write up guys. Forget that classified though, I will teach her a lesson or two😏

👍👍👍👍👍

Reference DBR - it's so difficult to explain the evolution of the alliance. So many key players and individuals which not only made us and effective fighting force but made the game the most fun.
I would like to add notable mentions from my experience to just a few who were not mentioned but without whom you would have no dbr - Rogue Trader, JB, Messrine, kill n chill, Jedi pip, Jonny concrete, Maisie, bas, nig. All of which were there from the early days
