Was/is a shit rifle but cheap to manufacture and easy to repair in field, also jams less than most full autos, but barrels prone to exploding. You can keep your AK47 but I'll hang onto my SKS, a great and refined Kaleshnikov semi-auto derivative. RIP ground war game-changer.

The sks predates the ak-47. RIP to a WW2 vet who was wounded fighting against the Nazis.

Probably the most interesting gunmakers in history. He stated in an interview once that his biggest regret was inventing the AK-47, because it was his creation that is used to kill so many people. He said he wished he invented something that actually helped people and made them live longer.

The AK was based partly off the SKS, I would take an SKS over an ak any day.
