Noob Capo Here
Forums › General Discussion › Noob Capo Here-
Hi all. I'm not sure that this is the correct forum to post this here. If not, please accept my apology.
I've been playing TW since mid-Sept and am having a great time with it, so far. I feel like i've learned much just by playing the game but I also have gotten many tips and great advice a lot of you have been kind enough to share here.
As of yesterday, I now have a mob of 2,000, with 117 turfs claimed and i recently became capo of my hometown.
I guess I would just like to know what I should keep doing or even what changes I might consider making in my style of play. Admittedly, because I have a real life and many obligations there, I'm not able to punch codes as often as I would like or probably need to which is why my mob numbers aren't the greatest.
As a capo of a city (or many cities), can some of you TW vets give me ideas as to what to expect, what I can do to maintain my status as capo and what I should NOT do?
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

1) Do as much punching as you can.
2) Explore, hop to different places.
3) If you're looking into fighting increase your stam as much as you can, also you may to look into joining an alliance. That's only if you're fighting though.Happy Turfing!👍

Just don't get too attached to the capo. They seem like they mean a lot but are more for show than anything. Just keep working on your account. Build your turf limit. Hop places. Plant when you travel. Punch codes when you can. You're doing just fine 👍

Unfortunately being the mob you are I'd say the majority of active players could snatch that capo title from you but if you really wanted to keep it,be as friendly to the local players as you can. The single biggest downfall of players is lack of respect/being an arsehat, keeping things civilised and being nice (for me) is key to survival....make friends not enemies unless to want to go down the alliance route.
You just better hope that area doesn't become a war zone because you will lose that capo sharpish👍 -
thanks for the input, guys.
i don't really put much faith in holding on to the capo title here. in fact, i was surprised as all hell when i got the capo title :)
i guessed i just wanted to get a better understanding of what being a capo actually means and how seriously (or not) i should take it and what i can do to hold on to it. ultimately, i'd just like to build up my mob numbers and play the game for a good long time to come. it's very enjoyable, at least now it is :)

Play the game however you seem fit, there's so many possibilities, capo hunt, fight, turf hug etc
Excel in whatever you want to do...just don't talk to sabasaul...he will ruin everything for you -

Wait, so you're the one who took my Sacramento capo? 😡 Just kidding, go ahead and enjoy the capo. It's not a big deal to me, but in the future it'd help if you message a player if you take, or want to take, their capo. Many of us will give it up if asked. If you have any issues in Sac, message me and let me know, and I'll get it straightened out for ya.

Mr. 415, trust me, at this point in my learning the game, i'm not savvy enough to even know what i'd be doing to take the capo title. Seriously. It was as big of a surprise to me as anybody and i'll just relish it for as long as i have it. I'm assuming it's because of how many turfs I have? would that be correct?

and thanks for the offer to help, sir :)

Incidentally, that was a question I forgot to ask.
If a player has his/her eye on becoming a capo. is it proper etiquette to message the current capo to let them know of their intentions?
To me, that would seem to be counter-productive, like maybe you are showing your card hand or something. I might be wrong. Just curious.
-
Yes, it is proper ettiquite. If the Capo is capable of beating you, and you do not message them your intent (or shortly after getting the notification), they can simply take enough turf from you to get it back. Some care, some don't, but you're not "tipping your hand" because you couldn't keep it.
A PM shows respect, makes it more likely the existing Capo will not mind losing it to a weaker player. If the Capo says no, you save yourself getting some turf capped.
If you're bigger, a PM still can't hurt, you never know who their friends are.
Turf Tales issue 10 has an article about Capos / ettiquite, the info is accurate but the writer of the article is a real jerk.

Don't call me sir lol. Yeah, actually I tore down a bunch of turfs there so you ended up with more Sac turfs, and capo. If you need any advice in the future, feel free to message 1 of us local NorCal players. ✌️

Welcome to TW, if give you a tip but you've got plenty already. Feel free to pm any Q's though. 👍
