iPad air... Xmas present for the mother???

I was thinking of getting my mum an iPad air for Xmas, but after reading a couple of reviews I'm not 100% sure now, they seemed to be contradicting each other. I don't mind paying the price for it and I think it would be very beneficial in the long run.
if anyone has one or knows someone who has one then I would really appreciate your feedback, any other suggestions are welcome

I just got mine about 2 weeks ago. It is great! I had an I-Pad 1 so this is much faster and the screen is much clearer. Camera is better than the wife's I-Pad Mini.

Get the new iPad mini air. I think the iPad is too big.

Stick with the regular size iPad Air. I have the mini and I kind of regret that choice. I love it because it is very portable but I miss the larger screen for watching Netflix and better gaming experience.

2 reviews said that it was much better than the regular iPad, but one said that there wasn't much difference

I use a ipad mini. After switching from ipad 2 to my mini, can't go back. That thing feels like a brick.

Mini is the perfect size. She can put it in her purse.
