What do you think about drying out mega mobsters?
Forums › General Discussion › What do you think about drying out mega mobsters?-
There's a discussion about mechanically limiting mass mobsters to make the game more attractive for new players. Another way would be to convince a serious number of players to Kick the mob kings out, thus withdrawing their support. A little loss for the little - big loss for the big.
-
Why would you punish those who worked so much to get that high of a mob?! A Vendetta is there for that reason
-
You wanna know something. I have been playing this game for almost 4 years. For the last 3 I have punched codes everyday, spend money on don points to up my turf limit, refill Stamina. Ok I haven't bought henchmen and as long as their are codes to punch I shouldn't need to. But I will put up a stink like others will if I start losing mob because some guy who has played for a week who is too damn lazy to punch codes says the playing field is too uneven. Would you like to guess how many players like yourself message me asking for help because someone not even twice their size caps 1 single turf.

We get muscle from punching and small mobs get range, seems reasonably fair to me

I have to agree with Fachan on this one. And while we're talking about mobs, mob up or shut up.

Besides, the remove a player from your mob thing has been tried on a grand scale. It didn't work.
Why would you want newer players to have less mob anyway? They'd also have to check the mob count of every invite before accepting it. Think of the codes that could be punched in that same amount of time.
-
I know Im a nobody on the forums, but I just need to say this the most ridiculous way to attract new players by punishing players that have put in count less time and money to get where they are today. Everyone starts small, mob up! Are the developers going to reimburse big mob players for their time and money spent in the game? The name of the game is on the title, turf WARS.. War isnt suppose to be fair. There is a winner and a loser..

If 100 small players (say 1,000 mob) remove 100 large players (say 50k mob) from their mob then the small players have lost 10% of their mob whilst the large players have lost 0.2%.
Basically you are screwing over the small player.

Most new people play with this attitude:
I want a big mob, but I don't want to punch codes.
Whaaaa. Don't capture my turfs, I just want to capture these tiny inactive people because they can't fight back.
Some dude capped a whole one of my turfies. I need some big person to teach them a lesson. I know they only have 100 more mob, but refer to the not punching codes.
-
Ya kno there is an easy solution to not punching codes
Don't listen to what advice the "BIGGER" players tell you to do for the better , continue whining in the gd , stop playing the game , download GG hey what do you kno no codes to punch , sorry guys just a thought -
Need to change the rules of the NFL so 12 y.o.'s can immediately start playing and win.

Why play if when you get up to a decent level you would be limeted I honk it would make this game less attractive to new players

If you're going to start limiting mob then get rid of codes completely, but figure out an alternative or stfu. This same "discussion" has come up since the big mobs were 8-9k, you can see how well it came to fruition. The only discussion being had is some kid on their couch playing on their iPod while the ps3 controller is charging up but is too sedentary to punch codes himself. Kinda like the ones that spam their codes on walls rather than hitting ICM and putting in some time. It's always someone else's job to punch codes, copy paste is good enough for them.

I think the game is balanced just fine ... I lost some turf tonight to a player a quarter of my size who is in a V against me. This player has used the social part of the game to get in an alliance and take me on. There are lots of ways to play other then trying to catch up punching codes (but keep punching) ... you just have to put in effort somewhere.

... Always a great idea, but not sure how it's relevant to the post?

A 635 mob player thinking that would ever happen has no idea and should leave the game ASAP

I played a solid 2yrs strait 16-22hr's Aday Cross Country Truck Driven. I don't mind Being Small but I'm Getting a longer Vacation Payed. Plus These days in TW there a lot more codes to punch then Back in the Day when 8,000Mob, What Top Limit. By the way I'm FLATFACE

Im just wondering where the "discussion" is to be honest.
Mechanically limiting mobsize?
I wonder how that would work out though? If you reach 100k mobs, will your keyboard be physically removed?
Are you going to break a finger, or have the chance of multiple fingers getting broken if you try to add more than 100 k mobs? The game is fine as is, some of the big mobsters have developped a routine, and the punching for them might be like hopping for others, its what might keep them ingame.

STFU AND PUNCH CODES

A way to solve the issue is to replicate the game and put a new wrapper on it. Incorporate the mob aspect from GS.(Nick's other game). That way, a big mobster today could wake up to 1000+ attacks and finding themselves a mini mobster tomorrow. If you have to play your mob like loot, it would make for an interesting and ever changing game. You can buy more mob loot, but still stand an equal chance of losing it. Obviously, I haven't really thought through all the pro's and con's, but my point is that this game has matured and revolution against drastic change is ever present. While it isn't perfect, it is still one of the best concepts out there. The best option is to start over. GS was a good attempt but swung too far away from the real-time and simple map interactions that make the game fun (more...)
-
If you really think about it, Nick took TW and changed all the aspects that were complained about the most in this game. Personally, I think he missed the mark, but he knew this game is too mature and he needed to start over. Bottom line is that there is no "fixing" this game, you have to reinvent it. Take the best elements in hopes of building a fair, fun and sustainable model. If you don't like aspects of any game, get out there and build a new one based on what you do like. Who knows, you might find the winning combination.

Some people don't punch. I haven't punched in a year and I use my smaller mob count to my advantage. Sure I lose a lot of turf, but in war is when it pays off (long as I have a signal). Play how u want to play, but don't punish the people who spent YEARS punching those codes.
