Why do genuinely nice people sound proportionately less nice the harder they try to come across as nice? Surely if they are genuinely nice, they should always come across as nice?

This. I believe I could safely say that 80% of the drivers in the city are entirely braindead and should never have passed their drive test. I hate driving there with a passion ... and yet, here in the country you only come accross the occasional moronic idiot that wants blood on their hands (and windshield). Lol
