...chilly Canada for a sunny Mexican vacation! This will be my first time in Mexico and I couldn't be more excited! While I'm sure I'll have no problems staying entertained, definitely seeing the ruins and checking out the Day of the Dead festivities, but I was wondering about others' experiences there. Any tips? Something I MUST see or do, or avoid doing? Please share, and wish me a safe and diarrhea-free vacation! 😜

Not my #1 choice for a vacation due to the current condition of the country. But have fun 👍. Stay in the tourist areas and be vigilant. Don't drink the water 😜.

I've been twice. I highly recommend packing at least one cape and two or three good pirate outfits. It makes the trip oh so much better!

There's shootouts everyday in cartel controlled areas.
As a mexican i can only say

Dont dress too fancy. Stay where tourists areas are. Don't drink the water. Don't go IN the water (depending where you are) take a filter for the sink water so you can brush your teeth. Don't get mad if you find a collar in your tacos. Don't go to restaurants for food. Hit the corner stands. Their foods are so much better and cheaper. Try out the lobsters and definitely drink jamica and horchata. You won't be disappointed. most important part. DRESS LOOSELY it's going to be hot as fuck especially since you're used to Canada.
In some places it reaches over 100F and that's normal temperature.

As long as you're in a good place you shouldn't worry too much. What part of Mexico are you going to?

Thanks for the advice Loco! We are staying in a resort so, other than drinking a dangerous amount of booze, things seem pretty safe. Don't plan on going out into the cities or anything, the ride to the resort was enough to scare any gringo! Lol!! Am going to ATV through the jungle tomorrow though, wish me luck! And I see you all the way on "hot as f***" part...I'm dying!! 😅😅😅
