They've made a haunted ride that is based on the UBB mine disaster. What's next, a 9/11 ride? These people are low.

Anything for a buck. That is real sick.

I like really lousy tasteless comedy, but this isn't comedy or trying to be. Just in poor taste. Who's running that show? Last time I checked Halloween was geared for fun scares and children.

Kings Dominion refutes the maze has any connection to a particular mining incident. A spokesperson for the park says "Miner's Revenge is not designed, nor intended, to depict a specific situation. Rather, it is simply a themed Halloween attraction."

Good to know. Thanks Smokey. In retrospect, they might have used a different theme. 👻

He is also a hypocrite. Here is him being "sensitive".

Most of us respect him by not using the "r" word, you'd think he'd respect us as well. -
😨 wow.
All I can say is that some people sure have a way with words.
-
Yeah. That's exactly the same thing.
"Please don't insult mentally handicapped kids. I realize you meant no harm, but be aware it might be painful to some."
==
"A guy I knew died at work in a really dangerous job, so never reference anything remotely similar in the context of fear. What a bunch of corporate cock suckers. Everyone stop going there."
Next.

Let me just try to tone down the sarcasm. (If I can..)
First, you posted mis-information. You should probably correct it. The attraction is in no way based on any single event. One individual that wanted to make it a public issue said it upset him because he was doing research on that specific mining accident, and that's why he was sensitive to the issue.
Second, you are spreading popular (WV) outrage that is arguably difficult to defend. What is the difference between this attraction and any one of thousands of popular films depicting plane crashes, sinking ships, war horrors, murder victims, etc.? Surely people that have been affected by these things in the real world should be horribly offended by these depictions if this campaign of disgust has any merit.

...Not to mention that Paramount has decided not to do this ride next year, responding to the flaming outcry of congressmen, bloggers, and angry turfers. You give them no credit for taking corrective action above and beyond reason.
I'm sorry if you don't like disagreement. But you don't seem to consider that you are affecting the livelihood of the park and it's employees and surrounding businesses. Do you like it when coal mining is villified in the name of climate outrage?

Most of us respect him by not using the "r" word, you'd think he'd respect us as well.In all fairness, that shouldn't be done for him. That should be done so you don't sound like an ignorant asshat.
Having said that, the same could be said for having respect for another person's tragedy.

There are countless examples of things being based on true stories, are you honestly saying nobody should be allowed to make rides or movies about them? Yea I get it, you're a miner. So you don't like mine disaster themed rides. Solution: don't ride it. Also, don't read Desperation by Stephen King. There's a mine disaster in it. I served in the army in iraq. I had friends die there. Should I be whining about people making movies like the hurt locker and earning a tidy profit? Fuck no, i'm not a pussy. I just choose not to watch it.

As many times as South Park spits out "retard" and "r-tard" and "Lake Tardi-Caca", I still love them.
And we will never forget the names of the brave young kids who lost their lives...
Kid one.
Kid two.
Kid three.
And of course, kid four.
I remember how kid one used to laugh and play..
Just try not to take it personal.

How would you feel if they made a 9/11 themed ride, or a NJ hurricane ride? FYI I'm not a miner. I am a corrections officer. -
Hillbilly, here's the thing. I don't think anyone is saying you don't have a right to feel the way you feel. Being offended is a totally normal human feeling. Having said that, this isn't a ride based on one particular mining accident and while it might be slightly distasteful, you're making it into something it isn't. It's not personal.
I'm from West Virginia, too. I get it. And yeah, people acting like assholes about it certainly isn't going to soothe that anger. But just realize that it has nothing to do with you or your friend. It's a ride.
