I am currently 24 yrs old 5' 11" and 165 lbs. I'm looking to get more lean, obtain more muscle mass but not to much. I'm having trouble trying to figure out what is a good meal plan. What supplements are actually effective. I guess what I'm asking is for some advice on helping me not waste my money. Thanks ahead of time 😎

Screw six-packs.I have got a barrel.Dedication to beer and good eating is required.

I would like to add that I'm always on the go. Full time student and full time working so what's good as on the go meals.

Or look up a personal trainer and get him to set up a dietplan.

I used to bodybuild when I was younger. A good diet plan isn't a huge mystery. Lots of lean protein, ie. chicken breast, fish, and turkey breast, vegetables, fresh fruit, and tons of water. For your carb intake, eat complex carbs like whole wheat bread, steel cut oatmeal, brown rice, etc. Eat 5 small meals a day rather than 3 large ones. This means cooking and bringing food with you.
As for supplements, look for a protein powder that's low in sugar and carbs. Muscle Milk is decent for a major brand, but you can find better ones. Creatine, used as suggested, will help, too.
Starting out, stick with large compound exercises that work the max muscle groups: bench presses (try both barbell and dumbbell), military presses, dips, pull-ups, squats, lunges, and dead lifts. Try a routine that alternates leg & upper body days so your muscles get a chance to rest, and give yourself at least 2 days of complete rest a week.
Don't get caught up in complex lifts and tons of supplements, and don't overtrain.

I do a lot of swimming (doggie paddle) and when I was really serious about it I would eat a lot of protein and a lot of dairy, I still drink 4 pints of full fat milk a day, however my diet and exorcise was angled more towards a high power/weight ratio than just muscle size, so it depends what you want.

I used to be a body builder but I never used any protein shakes (screwed with my stomach)

Use designer whey and creatine with the gold creapure seal. Anything else is junk. Eat lots of protein and drink a shit ton of water.

I body build for one day. Then in another 2 months I try again.... I once did it for 2 days in a row then when to Outback for a steak.

Does running cross country count?

I recommend HGH as the go to supplement.

I use an all natural vegan supplement called "raw meal" as a meal replacement therapy. It gives you all the nutrients of a 1200 calorie meal in just 300 calories. I eat that instead of breakfast.

Better re-read your facts then. Unless you're talking about a fried turkey leg? 😄 Or maybe you know fat content better than the USDA? Is that you, Dr. Phil?

Dude stick to a plan eat protiens. And go to the gym on a regular basis. I'm pretty young but can bench 145ib. Warning inporper lifting can lead to major injury.

And for the love of all things bacon flavored, don't skip leg day!
