You are a nobody!
Forums › General Discussion › You are a nobody!-
It's a commonly recurring theme, in the forums, to trash a player based on an opinion of how signifigant their gameplay has been. Many times this is because said player has not joined a major war alliance, and thus is branded a nobody. Let's keep in mind, alliances are not a built in function of Turf Wars.
Not to belittle the large alliances, the level of coordination and teamwork of a large group of players is no small feat. I would argue however, this does not make one a great player. Many factors are involved that contribute to an alliances success. Many times it's a combination of mega mobbed players, big spenders, and an overwhelming number of individuals. To say that any of said factors make greatness, is a stretch of the imagination.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have the solo or small man teams that can be a constant thorn in the side of even the most fluid alliance. In all fairness, we know that the TW clock favors the underdog in many cases, thus making a well planned strike possible in the face of great opposition. Players belonging to this group generally face opposition well beyond their own numbers/spending habits, yet they succeed, at least to an extent, or in some cases, a plan comes to fruition.
Aside from these two groups, a plethora of other personalities exist. Other common qualifiers are capos/city count, loot collectors, hoppers, mob, fight count, fight percentage, influence, code contributor, income, casual players, forums, diplomats, and snipers amongst others.
My question to you:
What factor(s) are most important in influencing a players greatness? -
This thread is not intended to begin flame wars. I'm really not interested in why you think someone is wrong about what they have posted, or why someone is not the player they are lauded to be. Instead, please answer my question. Let's try to keep this thread positive and as non-personal as possible. This is not a nomination thread.
To answer my own question, and kick this thread off, I'm going to side with the small man/soloers. In some cases they are extremely destructive, which I no longer view as a disqualifier for greatness. With the addition of tournaments, even some of the greatest/most feared alliances have joined in on the destruction in the name of well.. a tournament. Nice cover. I say, keep up the hard fight. I have never been one to join the herd and I truly respect individuality, trailblazing and innovation. To say that you have gone against extreme opposition and at least succeeded to some degree earns my kudos.
Now tap gloves and keep it clean!

How active they are

I don't care if a dude has 500 mob. If he makes me laugh, he's cool.
-
it's the players ability to fight/play the game regardless the resources available to him. they adapt and make themselves useful no matter what. puts everything he has into the game. this is not to say the rest of his/her life suffers. but plays the game to the full extent. leader or follower, alliance or solo does not matter, it's how they play the game. what seperates a great player from the reset is the one that is willing to put more of themselves into it. some people have contributed so much time and resources i'm sure they bleed mob codes and don points.

Someone who thinks for themselves and blazes their own path.

Solo players, does that have something to do with masturbation?

Absolutely fantastic thread Roger That. I think that what makes a player great is their legacy. Not what they say, even if that may contribute to it, but what they leave behind. This doesn't mean that only retired or reset players can be great; look at Viper. Or Freemason. Or Maverick. Or Mystery. Or countless others that still play and have their own legacies. It's what the player has done may it be positive or negative, what the player is known for that makes him great.

Great thread! Definitely personality counts more than expenditure, at least in my book. Some people need to buy their way into character, so I get that.
But shopping center capo whores must get help. And pharmaceuticals.

The various " trails " around the world are pretty impressive. But a large mob is a lot of work so that person gets respect from me.
-
The "Villains".
Thuglife for example. May be pricks of people, but they make the gameplay and forums interesting.

I have two mob members but consider myself somebody - it's not how big ur mob is that counts - it's how big ur heart is ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Where's Nobody at? He needs to weigh in here 😜

👆Wow TT. I remember assuring you I would let you keep your loot, ages ago, as I was overtaking your mob.

And I thank you for that! 👍👍👍👍

I disagree with your post before I started joining alliances, I was not a nobody okay I wasn't well known either, but I was known for the right reasons, it all depends on what u do in the game if u do nothing then u will be a nobody, u also haven't got to attack everyone to be known

I think personality and how you interact within the community as a whole makes you the player you're going to be. There are countless examples of both individuals & alliance members whom embrace other opinions, share their own and stand strong on what they feel is the way they want to play the game. Humor is a MAJOR factor in building character interactive relations and a healthy combination of self deprication & jabs at others goes a very long way to making the game more pleasurable all around. Follow your own path and don't be affraid to ruffle some feathers. You'd be surprised what you can get away with given the correct mindset and personality. Obviously...just my opinion
-
I've missed the forums more than anything about TW. It's really what first drew me into the game. These games are meaningless without the personalities behind them.

I'm a reset but in my opinion everyone is a somebody. I just don't like how some people think they're more important than others because they have more mob, influence or maybe more active in the forums. Just because I don't have a large mob or high influence, it doesn't make me a nobody. I mean congrats to those who achieve milestones, it just means it's something you enjoy doing and are good at it. But I play the game the way I want to play it. That shouldn't make me less of a player.

And you my friend suck
