First off- you guys are killing your own game. This is aimed at nick and co. I'll explain later.
Anyways, there are a few reasons why this game is great. An amazing idea, something innovative and new that replaces the stale atmosphere of most games in this genre (portable MMO). First off, there was initially a great community. Banter? War talk? Acting like a total badass behind your iPhone because it's fun? Alliances, backstabbing, things you'd never do or say in real life? Yep, this game had it. Initially it looks sort of like a poorly made app because it relies on google maps and circles for the function of a global war. And yet, this simplicity captivated those willing to put in the time to enjoy it. I think the apex of the turf wars experience was probably the point of time before brens when there were only two ways to beat your opponent- out gun them with base weaponry or invest huge money you might need to hop with tommy guns.

Sell your brens hippie to be "all in" for your cause

Brens came, introducing the power creep into TW. That's not all bad, but the way this game was made amplified the effect it may have had if it wasn't such an obvious money grab. You see, this game could be a competitive game that continues on for years, but it isn't. The reason this game will die is because of the way it's fundamentally flawed. We all played and loved this game because nothing else was like it. Fighting a war with some buddies against huge odds? Hell yeah! Sounds like fun to me. Staying up late on pal and planning attacks on unprotected areas, that was amazing. There's a common downfall here though. You either pay exorbitant amounts of money to stay in the game all the time or you spend hours on end typing codes on the hope it grows your mob. This is an alright system if it's not too barring to the player.

So we have four choices where that player can fall. They can pay money and punch codes, which might happen a few times every now and then, resulting in a new powerhouse (not often). They can join an alliance as a "sniper", earn their protection, and enjoy the game. This might happen sometimes. They can just play as a solo player in their area, but in a war game there isn't a lot of fun in this. It might happen a lot but I'd imagine these people quit within a few weeks. And fourth, gonna go out on a limb and say most often, there is the player that takes one look at how far they have to come to even enjoy playing the game, has no determination to play the game competitively, and quits that day. How could this be resolved?
-
You could quit and it would be resolved for you. Most of the rest of us love the game, warts and all.

Don't think, just build little circles, smash other circles, and have fun. When your not having fun leave.

I think you would be looking at the game differently if you had played it as intended from the beginning. Based on when you started you would have been around 50,000 mob. This thread wouldn't be in existence because you'd be operating from a different position in the game, most likely a more enjoyable one.

I started and punching of codes and was doing it consistently. Then I found out that the devs can ban you whenever they feel you've "crossed a line" on the forums (and we all know the forums are what really make this game).
Since then, it was a downhill slide and I lost interest. What's the point of putting so much time (and money) into something you could be banned from so easily with little to no explanation.
So in a way, I actually agree with part of what Engineer says- nick and co may be the death of their own game.

Actually, the devs are quite reasonable when it comes to banning. They block your access, give you a chance to explain your side of the story, and if a reasonable explanation is given and you weren't violating the TOS, they will likely give you a second chance.
They get a bad rap, but we're all adults here, and know the rules. Cheaters are the death of the game for themselves, but the rest of us play on and are still having a blast!

I've never punched codes, never spent a dime on tw, never joined an alliance, have always been a solo area player and I've loved this game for over 3 years now.

And who the hell are you?

And don't get me wrong, I've loved it too. The whole creating the same game with new features doesn't strike you lot as odd? The lack of updates to this game and the wealth of them for GS? Again, this game was made with the intention to use competitive nature of lots of people to make loads of money. The discouraging nature of it prevents any possible longer life of it. I do have solutions but not the time to post them right now, so bear with me.

And what have you achieved with your 13 turf 😂

Don't act like a vet, or like you have even been here long, you came with the large noob expansion in that October/November time frame and have done nothing noteworthy or healthy to the game, you complained about your Gf moving to Canada, falsely joined an alliance without thier permission, threaten that you would stay at 14 till you were at 50k mob then get your revenge, and now complain about the path you started and are forced to walk on. Just delete the app move on no one really cares about your opinion.§ LΛWИ § wrote:

The dad part is you're complaining about not enjoying the game but you're not even far from it. I get involved and try to stay up to date on things in game. Being a solo player I have my little scuffles with locals every now and again, but also it makes me flexible in the aspect that I can pretty much help or fight against anyone with not many repercussions because I'm not affiliated with anyone in particular. It keeps the game interesting for me and we're about the same size mob. Thing is you have to realize what you are capable of with your mob size and then play on your own level. Worry about the big guys when that time comes 👍

Lmao it's funny seeing chicken get torched!
Couple things chicken. this has always been a game where u earn your way. I have guys I recruited when they were 1k now reaching into the 20s in about a year. all it took was consistent punching. 20k is a viable and very effective size and is very achievable to the average player. In fact some of the biggest names in TW haven't punched much past 20k.
You also ignore range, which is the great equalizer. I can hit the big boys from miles away, and in turn those 20k peeps keep me from getting to close to the front lines while I'm on discount.
Brens made a big different, true, but it only really impacts those fighting in the world wide conflicts. How does a 70k player with 10k brens impact people like u? Any player is still capable with the right V combination.

If anything, I would suggest TL for every level up. And perhaps a higher starting TL. Turf limit is the "currency" of the game really, and those starting out are poor bastards compared to the old timers.
-
You guys mistake me pointing barriers out for me complaining about them.
I personally know this, I've played for quite awhile and have had my share of fights against "big boys".. This isn't about my perception of the game, this isn't about what I think, it's about what new players think. You guys are naive if you think that your support alone can pay for the app to stay alive. This game needs new players, and when the players perceive a barrier to to entry (on an IPHONE game of all things) it loses some of the possible fun it could be. Which brings me back to my first sentence. The way this game was made was to initially make money, make money from people being competitive, and then fall off the map a while after sales drop off. You want to know why TW wasn't guaranteed it's continued existence for years to come?

It's apex was reached, it's got an end goal that is now out of reach to anyone other than those that are smart enough to figure out alliances, pay money for turf limit, and use their time to punch codes. By now we've narrowed the list down so far it's irrelevant.
@Odd- "Trying to rustle my jimmies, are you?"
Gonna point out where you're off-
First off, I joined the game early June roughly two years and four months ago, so get your facts straight.
Second, "wow". You got me. Propaganda or something. I say that I've been here longer than someone that insulted me and suddenly you have to shove your ego down my throat. So what if I did those things? Your point is..?
-
Meh.
Lots of players play for their own reasons. Mystery has a capo addiction. Others are enjoying being massively over limit or conversely hopping all over the place. Lots play and enjoy without being in the big alliances.
I really don't understand ur point. The big alliances rarely cap unaffiliated players even in war zones.
I am not saying TW is changing, I'm just saying that brens or whatever the hell ur talking about, isn't the cause.
I would argue that alliance play - through friendship, comradery, and working towards common goals keeps many players interested in the game rather than scaring off newcomers. It gives them something to work towards.

^^^ something I was alluding to. @ your point about brens- I understand, but the point is that it introduced power creep. The developers were willing to make something exclusive to higher paying players. This is (again) not an issue I really care about, but it's just another thing against the possible new players. If anything, I would suggest TL for every level up. And perhaps a higher starting TL. Turf limit is the "currency" of the game really, and those starting out are poor bastards compared to the old timers.
To fix this game there has to be something that cannot be affected by buying lots of Dp. Something more simple would be the stam or the energy not being to be able to be refilled via Dp. It sounds bad but think on it for a bit. Or as mentioned above, a turf limit increase.
