Bionicle

Does anyone else remember Bionicle? It was a series of books, comics, and buildable sets made by Lego. When it ended after almost 10 years of comics and books, the story included hundreds of characters, organizations, enemies and heroes, and locations, spanning over a hundred thousand years. As a kid I grew up with Bionicle and was heartbroken when it ended. More recently I've thought it would be cool to write a story describing the events in one section of Bionicle. After doing a little research at a Bionicle wiki, it turns out there's much much more than I even remembered. It's just way too complicated to comprehend! 😱😜 If you followed he Bionicle story along with me, stand up and be accounted for.

Man ... I remember those little toys. They were awesome!

I saw a film once, they had to get some golden mask so he could turn into a super bionicle and fight the enemies, *SPOILER ALERT* it was the lame ass friend that was destined to wear the golden mask not the cool guy 😒

I hated bionicle. Sad excuse for a Lego.

The reason it crashed was because of the TV shows created in 2009. They SUCKED! And kids saw that so didn't buy them

+1 Movies sucked. Could've done so much better but left out pretty much everything.

My son had dozens of those things. Still have a giant bin of pieces in my basement.

I loved those! They were hard to put together but they were awesome!

I remember them. I was born in '98 and I was playing World War 2 more than Bionicle.

Bionicle (stylized as BIONICLE) was a line of toys created by the LEGO Group marketed primarily for 5- to 16-year-olds. The line was launched on December 30, 2000 in Europe and June/July 2001 in Canada, Australia and the United States. "Bionicle" is a portmanteau constructed from the words "biological chronicle".[1] The concept is similar to Lego Group's earlier themes, Slizers/Throwbots and RoboRiders in that each of those lines had characters based on classical elements.

Earlier Bionicle packages had displayed the Technic Logo, but it was later phased out, and Bionicle evolved into its own line. In 2010, Lego announced that they would stop making Bionicle sets "for the foreseeable future". However, while production of sets will stop, the story would not, as Greg Farshtey promised to continue to update it on the website.[2]

The story abruptly stopped in the middle of 2011, presumably to focus on other projects, ending the series in a cliffhanger. After production of the toyline ended in 2010, Bionicle was replaced by Hero Factory, which was released later that same year. Hero Factory is widely considered to be the spiritual successor to Bionicle.
